A large number of these fliers are spread about both Upper and Lower Sanctuary, including the major inns and gathering points.

End Corruption, Voice the Citizens, Strengthen Sanctuary

- Vote for Baron Iondale

Hail Citizens of the proud Sanctuary.

I will begin this by declaring something, a fact some of you may have realised or suspected, but now it shall be made clear.

In an attempt to reach out better among the population and to experience things one otherwise might not, I have made myself known as a simple courier by the name of Malven. This name I indeed hold as my own, but I also carry the name of Iondale, Baron Iondale. Now, some of you may curse me for playing tricks, but I assure you, it has been a successful and a necessary one.

I have seen many a sight and both sides of the conflicts commonly faced within this City. I have faced both good and evil, both cowardice and honor. Through this, I have learned how to serve you, the Citizens, best.

As such, I wish to make my agendas for this slightly delayed election clear. I am late, I know that much, but are you sure we can afford to wait until the next term for a healthy change?

I have three major topics I will adress here, for simplicity and for the fact that I will not promise more than what I could possibly give you.

* Find, end and prevent all corruption within the City. * Give the basic rights back to the Citizens. * Strengthen and unite the Town.

To deal with the corruption, which I have learned is of outmost importance, I have a few goals. Starting out, I wish to undo the position of Mayor within Sanctuary. This is because the Mayor is one person guaranteed his political influence term after term. That means he has no responsibility to make his stand points clear for the Citizens and he has no need to keep any promises given to them. Also, he is the perfect target for any villain of ill intentions to corrupt. Either with bribes, magic, extortion or other means. That is an unnecessary risk for this settlement.

Secondly, I will take personal responsibility for establishing a force, with the sole purpose of hunting down and to disperse corruption within the City. The members of this group would need to be approved in a vote by the sitting Council, and even so, tested and trained under strict circumstances.

Additionally the removal of the Mayor furthers the people's choices through their own representatives even more. As it would seem, the Mayor is not elected by the people, and he is not a democratical official.

And I will tell you this. The voice of our people cannot be heard if it is nothing more than a pitiful quarrel. We must work on a way to join the Upper and Lower Wards once more in peace, under acceptable conditions for both parties. Work on a cooperation between the Orphanage located in Upper and the Beacon in Lower should also begin, as an effort to improve the life of our young. None of us have the right to neglect the dreams and hopes of our children, the future generation.

To increase the various crafts of our City, I wish to explore a few different options. Funding for alternative groups contributing to Sanctuary as a whole shall be proposed and discussed with the Council. It is my vision that groups of everything from Adventurers to Librarians or Charity Workers, aswell as any other organisation that can provide military, cultural or any other form of assistance to the City shall be considered for a limited amount of founding from the treasury.

From experience I am confident to say that strength of arms is not the only strength that wins a battle. A strong offense, a strong defense, it's all important. But what if battle could be avoided? We have gained nothing compared to what we have lost in the battles and wars we've suffered. I have yet another bundle of suggestions and ideas to improve the safety of our Citizens. Sanctuary must learn to keep a lower profile as a settlement. The laws pertaining to unwarded spellcasting must be made harsher and carried out with even more determination. We must learn how to use the landscape and caves around us to conceal the path to our City and Safehaven. Even complex magic can be used to hide from enemies. It is only my wish that we avoid bloodshed that will earn us nothing.

I thank you for reading this piece and I hope you will concider me as you vote in Alturiak. Any questions, or if you simply wish for a chat, send a letter to me at the Last Stand or the Pissing Crone. I'll do my best to reply.
