Erm... I really should remember not to hijack other people's threads. Sorry! :?
Anyhow, Thomas had some interesting points about PvP and waiting for DM's to announce their arrival before commencing.
Could I get some further clarification for the record on how this affects watch and spellguard characters when they are suddenly thrust into situations where PvP is imminent? I know PvP rules are to be followed at all times, but waiting for a possibly non-existent DM to monitor the action is going to be a problem at times.
If that's the ruling, then I'll follow it but I would like to definitely know either way.

Having a PC doing law enforcement lends you some leeway in your jursidiction, obviously. Subduing a wanted murderer you catch insivible in Upper as a Spellguard PC is fine, for example, without DM supervision (though again, its always best to get a hold of one). The thing about it is common sense. Think of NPC reactions to your PC's actions. You can't abuse your law enforcement status to kill or attack personal enemies, for example.
I think as a DM that a player in a law enforcement faction position is responsible enough 9/10 times in these cases. It's why we approve you!

Thanks Caddies, that clarifies it pretty well.
