A sealed letter has been left with Armand in the foyer of the Chapterhouse, with the instruction to pass the letter on to who it is addressed to. The letter is entitled Sir Roman Zaro, Society of the Ordered Mind...The letter when opened reads as follows

Sir Roman,

I address this inquiry to you, Sir, because I made the acquaintance of a young elven lass who claims to be under your tutelage, who calls herself Vanya. In the course of our initial conversation she mentioned that she believed you to be a former wizard who is now on the path of the paladins of the Realms, or words to that affect. Vanya also mentioned how much you have helped her with feeling safer in Sanctuary, advising her to train well in her bowcraft to protect herself.

My reason for contacting you is that i seek a scholar knowledgeable in the ways and means of the mental sciences - psionics - of which a number of aberrations are adept. I am conducting research into the cultures that use such mind powers; in particular i was wondering if you may have come across knowledge, or prayerful wisdom, concerning benign and good hearted entities that may be adept with the psionics arts? You see, in order to combat the darker mind powers of threats such as illithids and beholders, I think it wise to study the enemies of our Sanctuary - their inherent mind powers being the greatest threat as I see it; and thus either learn from benevolent entities who use the mental sciences, or better yet, enlist their help, if that were at all possible.

I realise this inquiry may sound like a wild dream - locating or learning from/about good souled psionicists -; however, I thought someone such as yourself, a former scholar, and current defender of the Ordered Mind of Sanctuary, may be able to assist me, as much as I may be able to assist you. I am a scholar and explorer myself and wish to further the safety and knowledge of all Sanctuarians. I trust that this may also be a goal of your own faith.

I thank you for the letter, and was pleased to receive it. I agree with you that a thorough study of our aberrant enemies may reveal unknown weaknesses and be to the benefit of our crusade, and thus applaud the mission - so long as it is tempered with caution. Unfortunately, my knowledge of psionics is extremely basic. I have directly experienced various psionic traps and influences on the behalf of illithid, so I am all too aware of their power and efficacy... but as to their practical utilization, it is a total mystery to me.

You mentioned the possibility of good-hearted beings who have mastered these arts, I would direct you to the mysterious githzerai. One among our society, Iodeus Zeriaemu, was trained by these reclusive beings and may be more familiar with psionics than I am.

Although I regret I am of little help to you, I would still be interested in a personal meeting to discuss your research and participation in the necessary crusade against our enemies.
