I have spent a considerable amount of time exploring this city and the ruins which it is built upon. During my exploration of the ruins I encountered a strange gnome who can only be described as a madman, although I could not understand most of his ramblings I did hear him mention a place known as the "Steady Hand", I am curious to know more of this place since I have heard many others speak of it. I am hoping that the Council's vast archives may contain some information about this place, should you learn anything about the Steady Hand, leave word for me at the Last Stand.

I would be pleased to share with you what I know. The Steady Hand was an inn and tavern built by a tailed tiefling and a gang he led in the canal ward, south of Rhalix Ghail's shop. After some time, the Society of the Ordered Mind learned that it was a front for Intryzz the Illithid. Supposedly the creature had a portal that led directly to his inn in one of the back rooms, and the gnome who tended the bar was his agent within the city. I am told the Society of the Ordered Mind brought a large number of explosives, and destroyed the building, causing some controversy with the residents of the district who interpreted the act as another incident of Upper oppression.

For a time various citizens (including Bergey) made their home in the ruined basement of the building, and it has been suggested that left-over illithid equipment caused various effects similar to narcotic addiction. However, this equipment was removed under circumstances I'm unfamiliar with, and the basement is empty now.
