My name is Private Straik of the Watch. And I've got an interest in becoming the Steward of the Arena, on behalf of the Watch itself. I've got extensive gladiator experience myself, and a love of combat that not many others out there compare to, but it's also important to me for the sake of my peers in the Watch.

It's my hope to start putting the arena to use as an appropriate area for the training of watchmen in a controlled environment. Duels in the arena would remain much the same as they are now, though a Watchman would always be on duty to oversee that duels are carried out nice and fair.

That'd be the main benefit of giving me the position anyhow. Even if I ain't around to handle the operations of the Arena myself, there'd always be somebody else around to cover for me. That's not to say that I wouldn't be around much, though, cause I would.

I also plan to hold pretty frequent tournaments, to seek out strong warriors who can bolster the ranks of the Watch, but also to gather up revenue that'll be split between the Watch and the Council.

Granting me the Stewardship, as the Watch's representative, would be taking a good step toward bolstering the defenses of the city at no significant expense to the city itself. So I'll hope you consider me thoroughly for the job.

I got your note saying I ought to send in a list of a bunch of things so that you lot can go ahead with your vote on the matter of the Stewardship. But I bloody went and lost it, and I'm about ready to smash my own face in for it. If you could send it again, I'll make sure to get back to you with the stuff you needed as soon as I can.

Thanks, I've got what I was asking for now.

You were asking who all would maintain the arena and funding and whatnot.

The answer to your questions, pretty much entirely, is "Me and the Watch."

I'll handle keeping the arena clean and maintained myself. I'll see about arranging with the Sheriff to have the Arena added to the guard posts. So when folks draw lots for their positions somebody will work the arena exclusively for however long.

Funds for tourneys and such will largely come from the Watch as well. If you're okay with it, I'd be glad to get a hand from the Council now and then for funding, but I won't need it too much.
