Kimiko is the daughter of a exiled daimiyo weaponmaster of Kozakura, Hayao Takemi, and of a head monk of a Tabot monastery, the Black Heron school. Raised in the tradition of the monastery who was located near the capitol city of Tabot, Kimiko inherited both the monk teachings of her mother and the double star two-weapons style of her father. Kimiko had two brothers and one sister, her life in Tabot was harsh and difficult because of the climate and incessant tranings, but she was happy enough, and would never have exchanged this life for another. Her father and mother were very important in the Tabot federation, because they were serving as agents and emissaries in some diplomatic meetings with Shou Lung or T'u Lung lords and ambassadors. One day one of these meetings turned badly, with assassins involved. Kimiko was twenty, and was late on her way to the field of the meeting, on the plains of Shou Lung near Tabot. She arrived too late to save her parents from the blades of the murderers, and a great battle ensued between Tabot and Shoo troops. Kimiko lost herself in battle and slew many an ennemy, before being gravely wounded herself by two spearmen. Kimiko's family grieved the death of their beloved members, and the young woman, after a long time recovering from her wounds, decided to leave Tabot and quench her sadness in travels and discoveries. First she wanted to see the country of her father, but instead she set out to the great Dragon Wall.
Bad luck being as it is, she was in a village near the wall when the Tuigans Khans of many clans attacked the region. Kimiko was made prisonner and forced to serve in the Tuigans nomad camps as a slave and prisonner. She endured many torments and humiliations, but her soul was like asleep and oblivious to her predicament.
It's one day, when the son of the Tuigan khan of the camp she was in, came back from a raid with a beautiful kozakuran katana that she suddenly woke up from her submissive lethargy. She remembered her father, and her pride took on. The Tuigan khan's son was asleep after having used her as usual, she went out of the bed, took the katana and beheaded the man in his sleep. A great sin amongst the Tuigans, who consider the soul runs in the blood. Then, as silently as she could, she eixted the ger in the night, all the great camp was lost in the kumiss beverage, drunk and completely oblivious to her. Kimiko stole a horse and headed in a direction she knew not. After days of roaming the steppes, she finally arrived to the western borders, in time to enter a city that her pursuers - because they pursued her with a vengeance - could not approach.
The rest passed in a blur. She learned the language of the west, slowly but surely, knowing that she will not be able to cross the steppes of the Horde again for a long, long time. Then she sold herself as a swordwoman and guard, and continued traveling west..
She does not remember exactly when this did happen, but she fell somehow, somewhere, it's very confused in her head, and woke up a prisonner in the hands of Underdark slave merchants...
What will it be now?
