ADRESSED TO:"Spellguard Agent Blake c/o The Last Stand&

Agent Blake,

You asked me to write my account of the murder of Spellguard Associate 'Sraal' three nights ago. I will do my best to provide details of what I did see without prejudice.

I was with a companion named Sol, a Lady Warrior outside the Pissing Crone and had organised a group to go investigate a rumoured 'open portal' for an Old Lady in the Canal whose son had gone missing. Several people were gathered outside the Crone.. and a large Orcish type whose I over heard being called 'Vince', along with a hin, and a thin waspy shadowy fellow holding a bow. Vince confronted two members in my group, warrior types who I had recently met named Zar, and Sraal (the Spellguard Associate). By the tone of the conversation it seemed that the Orc, the Hin, and the Waspy Bowman were intent on mugging us... (It 'sounded' like they had already mugged Zar and Sraal sometime earlier).

Vince soon threw some rotten fruit at close range at Zar and splatted everyone in the vicinity, obviously to stir up a fight. Zar and Sraal after heated words walked away toward the Canal.

I stopped a moment and witnessed the said Vince the Orc throw another piece of rotten fruit at a dwarven warrior all dressed in blue. Within moments the Dwarf had swatted and smashed the Hin and Vince to the group knocking them unconscious, while the waspy fellow tried to no avail to shoot arrows into the battle hardy dwarf who merely patted them away. It seemed that the muggers had been silenced so to speak.

The Blue Battle Dwarf (his name I never learned) accompanied me to the Canal but soon left our party taking offense that no-one had helped him combat the muggers. So I took off the find this 'Portal' and investigate that matter, with my friend Sol, Sraal, Zar, and another chap whose name I never learned (we had only just organised this group).

At the door of this rumoured 'open portal' in the Canal District we were soon surrounded by Vince, the Hin, and the Waspy Bowman. They soon attacked us and everyone flew in different directions. To be honest I fled to save my skin because this bullying and mugginf was none of my business, and it just seemed like a bit of bullying and rough-and tumble to me, nothing completely out of the ordinary for some folk working in the Lower from my experience.

Sol and myself, feeling guilty for abandoning our crew crept back to find everyone and see what had happened. I saw that Sraal had fallen near a building on the far side of tha Canal and so had Zar. Vince, the Hin, and the Waspy Bowman were scouring the area for other potential victims it would seem, so I again retreated.

Eventually we snuck up on the gang and I soon found that Sraal's both Sraal and Zar's bodies had disappeared - Zar had disappeared entirely; Sraal's pack and weapons and books were scattered where she had fallen... no Sraal though. Vince soon spotted me and I heard him say "... I'll bet they are carrying off the bodies... and I'm guessing YOU!" and he took a swing at me with a mighty sword and near cut my head off! I ran and ran.. Hiding in Lower Sanc, in a shop with Sol. Vince had accused me of removing the body of Sraal which was impossible. I am willing to submit to any kind of truth-telling or truth seeking spells to ascertain the truth of this.

Soon after we went to Upper to seek help from the Watch and the Spellguard, seeing that Sraal is an associate. That was when we met you Agent Blake and reported briefly what had occurred.

You may wish to question that burly dwarven warrior drssed in blue.. he may be better able to give a description of the gang he smacked down outside the Crone... I have seen the Dwarf about Upper and Lower working jobs... rough accent... ready for anything kinda fellow.. prefers his dwarven lads to other company though it seems.

Regardless, Vince the Orc (I have heard him called both 'Vince' and 'Orc'), his Hin companion, and the Dark Helmeted Waspy Bow-carrying fellow (he has an elven build, and moves fast and fluid in and out of the shadows)... waering a black cloak, black helm.

I do hope this helps you with your investigations. I wish I could be of more use obtaining names and such... but I'm not really a Lawman or that kind of investigator.

Yours in earnest,

Citizen Kepler Szul.
