Honorable Thain, master of Barak Tor, protector of the Stouts, defender of Sanctuary, I greet you humbly.
As you are already aware, i seek to build a laboratory in Sanctuary, in order to gather potion brewers into an efficient guild. I seek the aid of your honorable clan so that this project may see the day.
The guild itself is meant to gather experienced arcane and divine potion brewers together, in hopes to find recipes to mighty potions. As of today, none in Sanctuary has the proper equipement to dream of improving their skills. The guild itself would not only be a research center, but also seek to improve trade in potions, and thus has a profitable aim as well. All owners and investors would of course have their share in such profits, though i must point out that it will be a long term investment. By gathering people into such an enterprise, i also wish to improve general relations within Sanctuary: both by creating employement through trade, and by bringing closer people from many horizons. Finally, although potions is a start, i do aim to develop wand crafting and scroll writing in the long run. But one must start by what he knows best.
As far as guild organization is concerned, here is where we stand today. Please bear in mind that the project is liable to evolve as more investors join me. I seek to buy a warded building which will be both a research center, a potion production laboratory, and a sales center. Members should be allowed free rest and have access to guild-made potion bottles, and thus gain a competitive advantage. Although the guild (and very likely the Council) will ask for a modest tax per potion, the organization will remain competitive. Main investors will be part owners of the building. Thus, risk is little, and participation in guild decisions is automatic. There will also be other spots open in guild council for participative members. The guild council should total about 5 people.
I seek your aid in two matters: funds, and experience. As far as funds is concerned, three investors presently stand to about 25 000 coins. Although that should be sufficient, you may want to part take in the project, and i do worry that the Council might raise an initial and informal mark. Apart from me, the two other investors would be councilor Frum Highill and Glaminam Beldarock. Knowing where you stand would be of help to negociate with the Council. Two other people are seeking positions in the guild without investing: Grog the half orc would be shopkeeper, and Merrial would be librarian. This brings me to the second issue. If any Stouts wish to be employed in the guild, they are most welcome should their skills be apppropriate. I am seeking in particular an artisan able to blow glass, for potion bottle production. I also seek security staff to defend and inforce guild policies. Last, i take it that the Stouts rent Barak Tor to the Council, and would appreciate to profit from your experience as far as real estate is concerned. I am but a wanderer, and such a project is new to me.
I do hope to meet you and the Stouts’ council if that time is granted to us all. Until then i can be reached at the Last Stand, and will gladly answer any questions you may have.
Lys the White Sanctuary citizen.
