Several times now, when a character respawned at their corpse, they were rendered invisible and only relogging allows me to see them again. Not sure if this is happening a lot for other people, but may warrant some inspection of the death system.
Body/Character disappear on Respawn
Saw soomeone respawn to a corpse I was carrying, no problems whatsoever. I think you were "crashing" if this happens.
This sounds like it's an issue on your end, not ours. To be sure, can you ask nearby people if the character is invisible to them, as well, or if they're only invisible to you?
This happened to me today, no lag, never happened before on other servers.
Someone respawned back at thier corpse and were invisible (although could talk) only being seen when I relogged.
I was carrying the corpse at the time, if that makes any difference.
I still file this under crashing
I've seen entire parties have this issue, where someone is raised (often TR'ed) and no one else in the party can see the person until one or the other logs.
It's definitely a bug, although a minor one as it is easily fixed.
Sounds like a visibility glitch, then. Hrm.
Are they entirely invisible, or just "transparent" invisible?
It wouldn't say its crashing, as its repeatable and my NWN is very stable, I don't crash any other time.
The previously dead PC acts like he has cutscene invisible.
Does it persist if this PC leaves the area that you're in, and then returns to it (or you enter the new area that he's in)?
*bump*
Answer the question already! :P
If the character relogs, they become visible again. Have not yet tested whether or not an area change fixes it.
I experienced something akin to this in the Gnoll cave tonight, though everybody else (including Gnolls) was rendered invisible, while I could easily see myself. Due to the lag and all I don't really know if I died, but, while I had no problems moving around, I apparently couldn't be targeted (or wasn't, at least). Never got to relog before the reset.
You slackers can't even answer a simple question! :P
I ended up experiencing this bug myself, as a DM, and an area change did indeed fix it.
So... does this ever happen with Raise Dead or Resurrection?
Affirmative.
Okay. Taking all of this into consideration, I don't think that there's much that I can do to solve this. It sounds like something in the graphics engine just isn't registering, and there's nothing that scripts can do to fix that, as far as I'm aware.
