Considering paladins and blackguards are opposites yet equally pretty much the same. Why can blackguards not be put as a regular class with all their nessecities as abilities given with the package. Just enter get what you need level up; take away one class then replace your abilities then level up again ensuring your blackguard stature.

I'm just suggesting (yell at me all yah like) that perhaps this should be open at the begining. Or paladin could be a presitage class as well. Considering it does take a lot of effort to be that good, or rather to be that evil.

Blackguards and paladins are not opposites yet equal. At least for our setting!

In PnP, fallen paladins who go blackguard gain benefits. The Higher the paladin level, the better the benefits until 11+ level paladins gain blackguard levels to replace the paladin levels. You can gain/loose however you want, but your character level does not change.
