Druids and Alchemy.

Heya!

I have a few questions for you FR/D&D geeks. :)

1) Does Alchemy exist in FR, or are all potions created with spells? 2) Would a hardcore druid be ok with using Alchemy potions, or would that be against his oaths? 3) Speaking of druidic oaths, where can I learn more about them?

Thanks! -Santista

1. Yes. 2. No, its alright. Druids actually have a feat in pnp where they can make "natural" cures from herbs and chemicals that are similar to potions. 3. You probably can't. WotC hasn't written them down anywhere that I know about.

HEY! Its Santista!

Watch out if you start making potions for profit/greed, and don't be hesitant to moderate your customers. A city-slicker druid catering to unusual groups might wake up one morning without the power they once had.

Hey, Ed! Thanks for the answers. ;)

Still have a question: would Brew Potion feat be considered "magic" or "alchemy", in EfU at least?

And ExileStrife, I wasn't thinking about making a potion brewer druid. I'm just wanting to know if consuming them would fit my concept.

Brew Potion definitely implies using magic, seeing as only casters can select it and you have to imbue the liquid with a spell cast by yourself.

I imagine that practically all D&D potions are magical, one way or another.

The Brew Potion feat is both. You'll be magically making your potions. If you want to do some "alchemy" stuff in-game, this feat is basicaly required. It's pretty tough to come across things in the underdark though, so don't get discouraged :S

SANTISTA!!!!!

Becuase it is limited only by the engine limitations to spellcasting classes, you may play it as a sort of ground herbal cure if you want. No problems there.

One of the systems that I've had planned for a long time now (just ask Thilodius, who helped me come up with an initial design about a year ago) is a proper herbalism/alchemy system for druids and wizards respectively. I really should take some time and add that.

Satan! Good to see you!

LOL

It took me a few days to figure out! Stardog!!!

Thanks for the answers, everyone.
