Fen smiles from heaven

Ferdinand Fenwick was difficult to play, being a pure RP build. I had a lot of kick arse storylines with him, and made quite a few fond memories.

Best memory of all is when Fen was on trial to get stoned, and Clover told him later that she loved him so much that she was going to go up to him in the cage and "Slit your pretty leetle throat with my leetle dagger...." Both Fen and Clover cried, and Clover kissed him on the face to prove that she no longer cared what he looked like, she loved him anyways.

Fen met Jenner in the Temple of Hoar during a trial, and she noticed him, but he was so intent on watching the justice dispensed, that he barely said two words to her. She followed him out, where he was beaten up by some earth elementals. Jenner stood over Fen's body, and fought off the attackers. She carried his body back to the Beacon where she and Bern took care of him, and healed him as best they could. Fen fell in love that day, and from then on, he stood in the way of any harm that would come between Bern or Jenner.

When Jenner said "Yes" to Fen's proposal, he fainted, and two clerics had to revive him. :P

His only regret was that Bern couldn't be there to sing at his wedding.

Fen faced a Dragon with his friends, and watched them fall. He tried to get Upper to keep its promises, and nailed a letter of rebuke to the doors of Town Hall. He sat and watched as his then fiance was put on trial and was to be put to death. He spent a lot of time making sure that people worked together, and tried to stop friends from fighting.

On the OOC side-- Fen was the crappiest build ever made. Two levels of Paladin, and the rest were to be cleric. He only had 8 strength, and ten constitition. And yet I played him as the front liner that he thought he used to be before the Drow stripped him of all his strength and dexterity. He was always trying to save fallen friends, and gave whatever he could to see them succeed.

I like playing good guys, and trying to do the "right thing". I might have to try playing a rotten scoundrel next. And no-- not a hin. Got warned that cute doesn't do well, even when you are stabben them in the butt! (Cause you can't reach their back! haha!)

Thanks to all the people here that made playing Fen fun, and a big Kudos to the DMs for putting up with my gimpy arse.

Fen proved that you could be the weakest person in the underdark, and still get big things done.

Thank you, Everyone! (and big hugs to Ruza for always having Jenner there to carry Fen when he fell-- which was often!)

^_^

Congrats on an interesting and influential character.

Fen and Jen make such a ugly couple its not even funny.

hey you where not allowed to die yet.

Good luck with your next chatr, and do consider a dwarf ;)

So far only character who managed to make mine (and me) feel guilty enought to NOT deliver thingies to monstrous people for easy money.

I liked your character of Fen, very well played, even though Porki didn't really have much to do with him, just the odd interaction every now and then. And if it wasn't for you yesterday, Porki would have been the first face nailed to the wall :?

Good luck and happy gaming with your next creation :D

Who will get Ilmryn removed from the Spellguard now? :(

Well done.

Seems I have missed much lately.

Fen was an amazing character which really stood out. The moment I remember best is where Aravar was with Fen on the trial for the attack on the gates. It really showed through then, who Fen really was and what he believed in.

Congratulations on an incredible character, and good luck with the next!

I'll miss both jen and fen who had been two of my most favorite characters on EFU.. Snorri will mourn their deaths for a good long while both had been interesting and i always loved there RP together and with my other PC's thanks for you and Ruza, that made such wonderful people for me to play with.

I'll miss Fen and Jenner's relationship. :( It was fun though!

Excellently done, Clarice. I think you played a very believable paladin, given the difficult situation he was in. The fact that you played a paladin for so long is a true testament to your dedication. I admire you greatly now.

Excellent job.

I enjoyed Fen who was ooohh soooo much nicer than Iria.

Good job on surviving this long and making underdark just a little bit brighter.

This tale of remembrance would be a little bit more poignant if you didn't complain about the 'build' for three pages

That said, glad you enjoyed your character, not everyone gets to enjoy a decent sense of closure on a storyline. There's always the next one.

Everything gets better. And better. And better. Especially Pirates.

And sex.

I have two busy weekends, and this happens?!

Wasn't complaining, mate. Just explaining. I had a few players ask me why Fen always walked slowly everywhere. They thought he was carrying some great treasure or multiple sets of armour or something. The real reason-- he was a weakling and always overburdened by the armour he was wearing the the weapon he held in his hand.

I am always curious about other characters builds, and I have discussed that topic others on IRC and other places. Just thought I would share the build concept with other people-- mostly to show that you can still have a kick arse time even though your character isn't a war machine, meat sheild, or any other perfect build.

This was an application character, and I knew exactly what I was getting into when I made him. I had a few DMs ask me, "Are you sure you want to do this?"

For me, I think it is always fun to play an unwise cleric, or a fumbling rogue, or an ugly sorcerer. And not for comic relief-- I do it to try and make my characters more personable and interesting to other people. When you bump into someone that doesn't fit the stereotype, its refreshing!

No complaints about the build, or how I played him, or all the role play that I did with him. He was a very fun character to play.

Although I was always expecting someone to mention his looks and mistake him for a zombie or some other undead...... "Look out! Its a LICH!" (to my knowledge this never happened).

Cheers, mate!

^_^

(to my knowledge this never happened). Damn that would have been funny. I should have thought of that!

 Okay I see how it is, you can miss Bern's singing, but everyone forgets about the Cook.... *pushes Spirrowmint down some stairs, and kicks him as I pass* Oooh the stew is so delicious, whoa its really... meh! LOL

You silly monkey!

Some one on IRC said, "What next, Spirrow? Is Fen's BROTHER now going to show up?"

I politely told him that Fen's brother had already been to Sanctuary and had found the surface.

Of course, after Castle left, Fen prayed for him everday! (And I even role played that, too!)

Fen missed his brother very much.

^_^

...try a nephew or an Uncle.

I think we had enough of that with the Addams and Baelador families (spelling is probably off, but you know who you are :P )

I go offline a few days and Fen dies?! =((

Was fun to play with you mate, and I never figured he was such a "crappy" build, hehe, I remember fighting along his side, which was always fun.

Well done for him :)

I remember when Amy saw him for the first time, I think he saved her life, right? Since then he was respected in her eyes and a good friend. Fen will not be forgotten!
