Letter to Wyric Crowshire

[delivered with a freshly baked pie]

Honorable Councilor,

As you are aware, i seek to help Sanctuary in the developpement of trade, by founding a potions' master guild. Knowing how important trade is to you, i do hope to have your support on this project.

Indeed, though the first step is to build and equip a potions' master laboratory, this will of course be the foundation of a potions' brewers sales and production guild, be they arcane or divine.

As well as trade, this can only increase the relationship of people from many horizons. Seing how you worked hard to have half-orcs accepted as citizens of the town, i'm sure your open mindedness will fully support such a gathering of strangers.

I am currently raising funds so that this project will come to birth. I was also hoping to get from you - if you approve of my work - a letter of support.

Indeed, donators will be much more inclined to help if such a renowned and respected councilor such as yourself shows interest in this issue.

I look forward to your response, and do remind you that if such a guild came to exist, it would of course contribute through taxes at the town's budget.

Sincerly,

Lys the White, Citizen.

Thank you for the delicious pie, miss Lys.

I am not familiar with the process of making potions, so could you clarify what sort of space does it need? Is it dangerous to the surroundings as I understand certain potion can be rather volatile.

Do you have a specific spot in mind? My recommendation would be looking at lower part of the town for a fitting spot, as upper town is considerably more expensive to rent.

Until I hear from you again

Honorable Councilor,

I am glad you take interest in the project, and will gladly answer your legitimate questions.

The building itself must be of solid stone, for safety reasons. From the outside, to keep out unwanted visitors, and from the inside, to contain any possible hazards. Brewing is not a dangerous craft, but i do wish everything is done to protect people of sanctuary. Leaving spellcasters brew wherever they please is not what i want, thus a laboratory project.

I do have a spot in mind, in a seemingly vacant house in the southern part of Upper, near a illusionnary amusement park. Reasons are triple. First, the said park is known, now and then, to have safety failures, and thus the spot must be cheaper.... Second, the magic weaved by the park is beneficial to brewing. Third, i wish the laboratory to be in the safe haven of Upper town, as most weak spellcasters would be easy targets for Lower thugs which, unfortunately, seem to thrive these days.

I will gladly answer any other questions you may have, and do hope to meet you soon. Additionnaly, if you do support my work, i would greatly appreciate a writ saying so, to ease donators' fears.

Sincerly,

Lys the White, Citizen.

Thank you it did clarify much, however one term confused me.

Could you clarify what is an amusement park? We surely have no parks here... well, the term is a bit foreign to me. Some sort of traveling fair perhaps, but nothing comes to mind which might describe it.

Thank you for the clarification in advance.
