Helping others when not actually in their quest

Hope this is the right forum to post in, if not, sorry..

I'm considering buffing friends even if i'm not going in their quest, or selling my buffs to adventurers while i wait in town for whatever reason.

Then i thought, maybe that will be frowned upon as a way to bypass quest lvl caps, so i just wanted to check with dms first. (ex: "Can you strengthen me to investigate the Boggs warehouse just in case there is trouble?" "Sure, for 50 coins i can...") -damn i should've asked for more!-

Don't do this, please. Our quests are not designed with the thought in mind of having full buffs along from someone not part of the quest. Especially on the lower level quests, things like II, SS, GMW, etc., will just break them and make them easier than they already are.

Let's leave buff bots on the other MMO games.

Aye, quite understandable. Good thing i asked then! 8)

But now i'm broke.... back to brewing then!

Buffing friends - No. This dramatically alters the quest balance, at roughly no cost to them (except for having a high level buddy).

Buffing people for gold - Sure. We've got NPCs who do this, but there's no reason you can't compete with them. If you start charging next to nothing...then we get into the territory covered by "buffing friends".

A suggested pricing rubric would be:

10 gold * Spell Level * Your Caster Level, per spell.

P.S. Like almost all EFU rules, this one should be tempered by common sense. If there's some newbie whose pal died in a QA, and you want to help them out, sure, do it for free if you like. Common sense. Don't unbalance our server or exploit our good will/trust to powergame your buddies, and we'll be fine. ;)

Alright, that's nice to know. Sale's on then! 8)

As for prices... don't worry! I do have to compete with potions price though...

Whatesmore, knowing the lvl caps of most of the quests near town, i was planning not to sell buffs that quest characters could probably not cast.

(ex: lvl 1 buffs only to lvl2-4 quests; lvl 2 to 3-7; lvl 3 to 4-8,lvl4 to +)

That's OOC, likely, but it allows quest balance to be maintained.

How does that sound?

Don't mind the level ranges. Go right ahead and sell your buffs if its the IC thing to do.

Common sense in mind, as per Cross' post, though!
