Bracers ac bug

I wore bracers +1 armor ac, and got my ac dropped from 21 to 20.

Hehe, And yes, I checked a few times it was +1 and not -1.

Maybe non-stacking armor and it decided to take the bracers AC instead of the other items AC.

Not really a Efu bug.

Perhaps, but I got no +2 ac items.

I can repeat it.

Besides, I understood the ac stacking was modified for EFU, so it 'is' an EFU bug.

Are you wearing armor? If so, bracers don't work with armor.

I know, I don't use them for the ac, but the other property they hold (charges).

And still the ac shouldn't go lower, should it?

I'm going to make a few safe assumptions here.

You have 20 AC, you must be wearing full plate.

The item in question is probably Svirfneblin Lifting Bracers, a semi-common charged item with an armor enhancement.

There are multiple types of armor modifiers that I can't think of off the top of my head. The one that these bracers provide is "+1 Armor Enhancement". Now, the only kind of armor bonuses that stack are Dodge enhancements and all other types can only be provided by a single item. In other words, you can't have two "armor enhancing" (I mean this as a specific term, I know it gets confusing) items. So, if you are wearing body armor of any kind, you are already receiving this armor enhancement.

To make a long post short- I am 97.5% certain this is not a bug.

Wrong.

This is a bug, because when I wear the bracers my ac -drops-. >_>

Can I meet a dm online and show him the bug?

This is indeed a bug. Paging Dr Bartelisk!

I got this when wearing bracers which increased by spellslots, but also my AC with my Spellguard robes, instead of just dropping the one AC from the bracers, I ended up losing the one AC from my robes as well. I think that's the same thing?

Yeah. I noticed before that magic armor combined with any bracers that add an armor bonus end up dropping your AC. Of course they shouldn't stack, but as Metro said, this is indeed a bug.

I only added to this thread to reiterate that this does indeed happen.

It appears this is still a bug for the Svirfneblin lifting bracers. The item shows a +1 armor bonus (or enhancement ... don't recall which). When I put them on, my ac doesn't change, but it says I my ac has decreased. The character I tried them on has odds n ends of enhancements to her armor (that again, I don't recall off the top of my head) .. but is wearing only padded armor. That's if she's not wearing her robes.

Quote From Howland @ Mechanics Change Thread AC from Bracers will not work if your character is wearing any form of armor beyond clothing.

Clothing meaning robes and tunics, nothing that has base AC itself.

very well ... I simply did a search for Svirfneblin bracers and found this post.

There is indeed a bug, however; your AC will actually decrease where it should just not stack. I looked at this briefly a few months back, it's a pretty complicated script. <.<

Thread Necromancy, ROFL.

Alogen come back!

Okay, I've always had this problem and my solution is this, : Don't wear bracers of armor when wearing armor.

Simple!
