Hi. Welcome to the topic. How nice of you all to come.
What is the general interest in the idea of a long-term prelude? It would take about 2 or 3 installments before the characters make it to Sanctuary. Hopefully, there would be more allowance made for a deeper storyline and a more theatrical plot than is present in other preludes. Is there -anyone- else with something to say on the subject?

I would love to, but as usual the time zone difference and my play times virtually guarantee incompatibility.
Good luck though, sounds like a great idea!

That's a very... good idea. Well done, LTS. I won't be joining, but for what it's worth, I think it would be a lot of fun.
Not too stray too far, but does this mean you're returning from the grave, LTS?

LTS,
I have not been able to make time for a regular Prelude, let alone a series. :(
Sounds like fun though as you would be able to develop your character and relationships more before you reach Sanctuary.

This would be a neat idea. If each of these segments are on weekends.

It sounds great. But there is the significant problem of coordination. Most normal preludes seem as if they're a bit of a pain for all of the players and DMs involved to find a good time. Two or three parts seem as if they'd be exponentially more difficult. But with a bit of effort, I think it could be done.

The idea would be to, yeah, do it on a weekend where people have more time. There would be one on a Saturday, then Sunday, then the next one on the following Saturday, unless you stopped at two.

I find the idea very interesting and agree that the problem would indeed be the timezones and coordination. However, if people really held interest in the prelude and worked out quality concepts, I don't see why the prelude couldn't possibly stretch from one weekend to another... That is, of course, a question of how comfortable a DM would be with it.
I am interested in something like this myself, seeing as I'm toying with a bigger concept in my head and something like this would make a pretty sweet start for it.

you could run it as a mini-campaign external to efu really- the server of it doesn't even necessarily have to be efu - the only issue would then be transferring the PCs over to the efu server once the prelude was over.
But however it gets run, sounds like fun!

I might join this with an unusual character, if [insert your deity here] wants me to.
