It's not quite worthy of a full announcement but...

... for what it's worth, for everyone involved with the whole devil/drow/beyond-the-bowels quest, I am sorry. I actually had to leave -just before the penultimate scenes- due to outside influences, and thus leave it in the hands of another DM who had just logged on and had no clue what was going on. The instructions I gave couldn't exactly be exact - so.

There was probably an underrated amount of experience for the people involved that survived.

There was probably a lack of loot / reward for the effort I know a lot of people put in.

There was probably a somewhat anticlimactic ending to the whole affair.

I'm really sorry, again, real life called urgently, something I couldn't say no to. If you were involved in that quest and feel hard done by, as in, super-mega hard done by, give me a shout.

Otherwise, i'll try and find who survived the fallout of the quest and reward them appropropriately when I can, because I was very, very impressed with everyone that went along, with the general roleplay, with every event no matter how minor and the reactions to it.

Piece said.

To be honest i found it a lot of fun although when you left it did go a little crazy, but Snorri survived a little beat up for sure and losing some gear but hey how many dwarves can say they picked a fight with a pit fiend and lived.

The end was a little hectic but it was lots of fun.

And seeing the end fight was a reward aswell. ;)

That was the longest, most heartpounding expeditions I have ever been on. Keep up the great work!!!

It was amazing NC, really amazing job on the quest- I think everyone was really into the whole story, the beat the clock made it all worthwhile, to try and solve this madness...

Trying to push your way into chosen territory with a few buffs remaining, few invisibility potions and those damn dispel traps- made everything awesome.

To those that think the survival feeling is gone, I really don't know what to say <.> ... except go explore chosen territories in order to stop a megaplot from unfolding and trying to beat the *spoiler* to it.

When did you leave actually - I didnt even notice the transition until Strife told us at the end, but now that you say it, it does make sense.

I'm still curious to when it happened, my guess was when we arrived inside the facility battered, but alive - trying to get the hunk of junk on his feets.

So that's what happened?

It was really fun, I got frustrated when you left and than I died while the demon was in NPC mode.

The xp was ~1k though I believe.

The collective body of foolhardy souls venturing into the depts were capable of dispatching of most of what was in their way. The thing that brought the small army to it's first halt was a group of four really-really-smart Ratties. There were a few other rats there too, but once these boys got all wired up, it didn't really matter how many brave souls the Sanctuarians counted. What mattered, was who had a Kobold Hide Potion and who didnt. The Second hold up was probably when the Big Guy started with his Spellbook for naughty little Devils. I don't think I have heard four simultaneous death cries before. Sounded groovy.

All in all the quest was long, costly and somewhat confusing for obvious reasons, the main two being firstly that the DM had to go and secondly that three or more parties, counting 16+ people in total were struggling to push forward/stay alive. But also, all in all, it was a great challenge and seeing as my character was fortunate enough to receive the aid of one or more companions the times he sank to a knee, I don't feel I have anything to complain about. It was a solid adventure, mama!

Now we just need a week to get some new supplies and we're ready for another trek!

I have been on these sorts of quests before, though not with the same type of climax that apparently insued.

A long, long while ago a human paladin I used to play led a huge group into the bowels chasing after a giant green animatron that had rampaged through the city.

My group (about 24 players) fought tooth and nail to get into the chosen arena and then were eventually driven back by, literally, hundreds of chosen.

Messing with the chosen is no laughing matter, especially with the new AI that's on them, I'm back to fearing those bastards again.

Yea the chosen ones are smart especially the greater arcanists. They cast combusts which hurt alot for low reflex characters.

In this one the demon luckily bashed alot of the chosen for us.

The spice was fantasic from start to finish, Strife did a good job of covering for you. If only someone didn't decide to shoot the devil with a crossbow thinking it was a great idea :?

Wow, that seems like ages ago. That was the quest that first really got me hooked.
