After recently deciding to perma-kill my latest character, I realized something: I had to stay logged in for the rest of my party/friends to RP my funeral or what have you.
I am opting for a "/c perma" command that would do something similar to the following:
1.) prevent return to the Prime Material plane (meaning the servant of kelemvor doesn't give you the option to return to life)
2.) makes the corpse object in the material plane a permanent corpse, meaning the link between the person in the Fugue and the body in the material plane is broken.
3.) this command only works while in the fugue plane.
This solves 2 problems - people respawning after they claim to have perma-died but the DM's haven't deleted the character yet and it allows the characters friends the ability to continue to RP the characters death, complete with body for a funeral, even after the dead character has logged off.
What do you think?

Other than the permanent body, I don't really see what this would accomplish, but I'm not inherently against it.

Slightly related, I'd like to suggest a /c suicide command or something. I've personally been in a situation where I had to wait an hour just to get a DM kill (one'd think getting something like that would be fairly easy, no?), and I know I'm not the only one to have been in such a situation. Of course, a command like this might require password verification, just to be on the safe side.

RE: Both of these ideas.
Rather than a /c command which is instantaneous, I think they should be done through a dialogue with the various "Are you sure?" and "Are you really sure?" confirmation options.
That, or the /c command itself brings up a dialogue.

I think the idea -is- the permanent body, and I think it would be good.
As for the suicide, I think it's neat to, in cases of sure horrible death or so.

...Or you could just not bring the character back?
I have, many a time, endured times of weakness with characters whom have suffered setbacks (or death), and thought "THAT'S IT, I'M DONE.", only to change my mind 24 hours later and carry on.
I wouldn't endorse this option for that reason alone.

/c suicide would be awesome to see.
/c perma would be better through an Npc in my opinion- but I can see the value in you being able to resist resurrections from within the fugue. And I can see the value in leaving a corpse item on the surface when you done and decide to log.

/c perma, I'm not sure of my opinion.
For the /c suicide, How about /c deal x dmg to oneself?
Instead of plain suicide you can deal a small amount o dmg to yourself?

Yes! I was going to bring that up later, but yes. /c commands for damaging oneself would be sweet. I've wanted that numerous times in the past.

I would add for damage self a will check. Hmm, the needs a strong will to be able to damage yourself,
(The dc would be calculated by the size of the damage you want to do, and the size of damage you suffered already)

I was unaware suicide and self mutilation took extreme efforts of will. I'd always considered it was rather the opposite.

Hm. That's a potentially offensive statement that all people who attempt suicide are merely too weak to face their life/problems. And I personally do find it offensive having known people who have attempted it. Perhaps it would be better to say that acts of suicide and self-mutilation are acts of someone who often has a misplaced or misguided will?
For example, I think the refugee detainees in Australia who sewed their lips together would have committed self-mutilation with a very strong will and determination. It was perhaps misguided of them to think that it would actually change government policy.
