A Study in the Dark

Species: Deep Boar

Notes, bled considerably when opening upper ribcage. This specimen had a strange wasting disease in it's lung that would explain how distressed and incapacitated it was when discovered. Lower lungs were full of some a lot of grey fluid. The boars lung conditions also meant that didn't scream much when it's chest was opened and besides a brief wail when I cracked it's sternum it mostly gurgled. It's stomach mostly contained various fungus. Including what appears to be mature barrelstalk fungus, almost certainly the cause of it's death.

It's kidneys were also swollen, probably the body's attempt to filter out the toxins.

I made extra precautions to try and avoid contact of blood and other such things. But Deep Boars bleed a considerable amount.

Personal Note: When I cut the stomach the acid bled out onto the surrounding guts. The smell made my eyes water, It pleased me.
