I was just wondering if head ornaments other than helms exist in the game. :?:
Things like crowns, tiare, headbands...
I just laugh every time i see ladies wearing beautiful robes and an ugly spiked helm walk around in town! :D

I don't think so. Even "circlets" are the ugly helm that makes you look like Bobba Fett.
99% sure, No.
You might find items called something else like -headband, etc... But the only head peices are full helms.
If only a patch gave us hoods :(
The next patch will add open face helmets if I understood that right. I also talked to a developper who told me hoods are easy to add by messing around with hair/tail nodes, but it sounded all spanish to me.. If someone is interested I can get more detailled information. Maybe.
I am probably way off-base on this, but I played a mod where if you wore a "Tiger" mask, you had the head of a Rakshasa. This may not be capable w/o the proper downloads, but I thought it worth mentioning.
That was probably CEP. CEP had allsorts of new helmet models. Only one of them was open-face, though: the cocked and feathered hat. This hat, however, was not implemented with helmet as its type, but was added to the armor as a robe.
Currently, as far as I know, NWN doesn't support helmets that don't completely change the head model. There are some head models that include hats, crowns, cowls, whatever, but these don't count as helmets.
You can get SKULL MASKS.
Which are still fully obscuring helmets. You nub. :P
Yeah the tiger mask was a CEP thing.
I miss those feathered hats.
One think I do miss from the CEP were the hoods. They weren't open face, but at least you could take them on and off as opposed to just having them as a set head type.
But, btw, if, as Linelle says, they're implementing open helmets, could we get some screenies of that? Pwetty pwease? I'd love to see what they'll have come up with.
For every good thing the CEP introduced, it was overshadowed by thirty tonnes of shit.
CEP 1 was good
CEP 2 was pushing it a bit :p
If only they just ripped the hoods from the CEP and added it to the official patch... if only.
They won't do that because then they'd have to pay royalties when they can quite easily do it themselves. It's not even that difficult. Just a standard model with a floppy mesh
Heck, every race has a default head model with a hood on it, except for maybe gnomes and half-orcs. Just pick that and make the eye part black.
So, to answer the topic question:
No, EfU -- like regular ol'NWN/SoU/HotU 1.68 -- does not have any headwear other than Helmet items, unless you also count the hoods/hats grafted to some people's heads.
Of course, some of our helms are called "crown", "circlet", "hood", "goggles" or "mask", but their base item is still Helmet and they still cover the whole head.
I wrote a sloppy little script a while back to "equip" hoods (changed the PC's head model to hooded and back) but the first flaw with this was that not every race/gender had a hooded head, the second being that this sometimes changes identifying facial features (eye-patches, bangs, facial hair, etc) that, going by the "new" model's open face, should still be seen.
It was made as a proof of concept, not to ask for it to be implemented, and I was more than happy to point out the flaws.
Ok-- I just have to post this---
I was on a CEP server with a friend, and she made a dwarf female character. By the way-- CEP makes female characters bossums jiggle a bit too much....
Well now-- on the server we were on, they had these helms called "Secret disguise masks". When you put the helm on, your head type changed to that of a bearded human man with a dumb expression on his face.
So my friend put the helm on her character's head-- and ran around town, jumping up and down so her characters bossums bounced up and down.
I laughed so hard I peed myself.
^_^
I'd like to see a helm that gives you an entirely different head type. Make it usable only by rogue / bard / assassin, and you've got a disguise mask.
Problem here with headgear that doesn't cover the entire face is that the model for the head and face is replaced by a model for the helm. The helm isn't simply set overtop of the head. So the problem with making open faced helmets is how to do it w/o using a geneic face and showing the PCs true face underneath (because your old head/face is gone once you wear a helm being replaced by the model of the helm itself)
The only supported option now would be for each face you can choose for your character, to make a new model of it wearing each helm in the module.
So it would require ( NumFaces * NumHelmShapes ) new models to be generated.
