i was somewhat surprised to find that magic missile wands cost over 725 coin to make. i am not yet sure if they cost 750 or 775 or more, but this is sort of a lot considering you can buy wands of missiles in the market for only 875 coins. considering the xp loss, and most likely anyone's reluctance to spend only 50 less coin than they could in the market, i really don't think this is worth it.
then again, i haven't yet figured out their full price so what do i know.
just my 2 cents ;)

775 is cheap if you consider what individual scrolls cost. Really cheap.

I believe those crafted wands of missles are for a character level 9 wand. Which means it shoots 5 missles. The ones in the market shoot only 3 missles.

That's going to be fixed too. (Caster levels of wands need to be changed around a bit, from what I've been hearing)

Caster levels for the vast majority of wands have now been fixed.
Pricing for non-potion wands has not yet been fixed.

On this subject, I have found the prices for healing wands at least to be VERY reasonable. What I have found to be a bit exhorbitant pricewise is brewing potions. Considering how many potions drop as loot, you won't find many people willing to spend even half of the cost that brewing a potion requires.

Healing item costs have a much lower base value due to the abundance of their requirement by default. They're absalute lifesavers but shouldn't have costs increased to match offensive wands of the same level.

Brewing healing potions is, in my mind, perfectly reasonable. I sell large numbers of potions everytime I log. People buy them, I earn a slight profit, everyone wins.

Personally I like the idea of heavy cost for magical crafted items. I get tired of seeing magical items up for sale everwhere. To me it cheapens the concept of both magic users and the things they create. Might as well be called a merchant rather than a wizard, sorceress or bard.

Back to the topic of wands.
Perhaps we could set up a option in the craft menu that lets a person choose the Caster level and number of charges for the wands they create.
For example: Mitton a 9th level wizard, want to make a magic missile wand. Mitton could set up his craft menu to figure out the power of the wand he want to create. He could then pick if he crafted a CL 1 wand with 50 charges or a CL 9 wand with 5 charges.
Meh, its just a suggestion. I
I dont script so I have no idea how hard it would be to impliment.
Nor do i play a caster, so i dont know if the option would even be disired.

If the margins are there, once the server populates, merchants begin to appear, buying potions In bulk from numbers of casters (who then dont have to stand around the market or try to hawk thier goods), and selling at a modest markup.
In Arabel most potions were sold through PC vendors, who strolled the market. Most wern't Wizards. Currently the server population ,the noncentral location of the market, the newness of the crafting system, and the low level of the players has probably prevented this business from springing up.
But, as the server population and lvls grow, many wizards won't want to waste the hours selling, and merchants will likely spring up.

I am sure there will be several people, willing to adopt this trade. It's very profitable, and you don't necessarily need to be a pain-in-the-ass merchant who bothers everyone constantly (am I hearing Vadal, anyone? :P). Think about it. Lots of money, hardly any risk, and great social contacts. Besides, if in need, you can use all the equipement your merchant has on him, if need ever arises. Merchants tend to be the stronger characters around. If you buy a Longsword +2 fire damage for 2000 gp, and want to sell it for 5000 gp, what stops you from using it yourself in the meantime? Great acces to supplies. PC merchants make everyone's lifes a lot easier.
