*sealed letter to Terio Menthur sent to the tiger eye's*

Resident Eluhin El'dore found me on patrol and reported to me that there had been a break-in and attack at a small home inhabited by Upper Sanctuary resident Arthur Felton.

I went to the home and discovered Arthur Felton had indeed been murdered in a most disturbing manner.

I summoned Izarious Patton, and am including his report here:

Private Williams

Victim dead less than twelve hours.

Large stab wound on chest.

Eyes had been removed and inserted into victim's throat, choking him to death.

Head was then crudely sawed off and placed on victim's table.

Limbs were severed and pinned to wall using dagger and letter opener.

Limbs seemed to be deliberately arranged so as to spell the letter "H" on the wall.

Remains were recovered and brought to Mausoleum for cremation.

- Izarious Patton

This is Highly suspicitious and is the second reported case of this sort. The first was that of the family of the Alders. I was looking in on this in my spare time but there is a deffinate link in the two cases looking at method of killing used. I shall go and get the report notes from the Tiger Eyes immediately since they currently hold such information.

Private Marshall

*note is attached*

This is all the information we have so far. I trust we will be recieving your report soon enough.

Double Homicide. (update)

Patrick Kegan, a potential recruit, largely lead a preliminary investigation into the deaths of Burton Alder's wife and son. Alders was questioned and the scene was investigated.

On the day of the murders Burton Alders went to the Crone, presumably for a drink with some people has worked with. His wife and son were alive when he left. Alders estimates he was absent for no more than an hour. When he returned he found the his wife and son dead in his home. Inspection of the bodies suggested that a swift piercing strike was the cause of death for the female. Abdominal wounds and the decapitation were inflicted afterwards. The decapitation is suspected to have been carried out with a weapon not particularly well suited for cleaving. A short sword was speculated on the grounds of the apparent sawing and effort that went into the decapitation. The boy was killed by dart wounds in the back -- as if running away from his killer.

Money in an upstairs chest at the Alders' home was apparently undisturbed. The rest of the description of the scene is accurately summarized in Alder's letter (the smiles, the "B").

Burton's mother-in-law, the Crone's barkeep, and neighbor of the Alders were questioned. The barkeep confirms Alders was away from home on the day in question. The neighbor and the mother-in-law both remarked on arguments within the family--all stemming from the dead child's unruly temperament.

A woman named Zab and the half orc named Bug came up while brainstorming for suspects. Later both were questioned. Terio will add an update to this case summarizing the results from interrogating Zab and Bug.

Double Homicide. (update)

Bug - Too stupid, I doubt he did it. It's not his style to use darts. I did get a list of his friends though and I'd say that a few of them might know some more about the case. Jacob, Julien and Smash are the ones that I can think of off the top of my head. His only real enemy seems to be Ivandur at this point, though I'm sure he was just forgetting the Watch.

Zabriskie - Poor girl seems quite innocent. I don't know what we were thinking.

This is what I could dig out of personal reports.

I'd like any files you have on the wizard known as Kas. It has something to do with muggings in the mines. I also have some sort of one use hammer that you might find interesting. We'll talk!

-Terio Menthur

P.S. It's Tigereyes, not Tiger Eye's.

*Another letter is sent*

A group of bandits have been reported to have been making repeated attacks in the mines near sanctuary. They await warry citizens and attack them.

*a name has been made illegable by ink* has informed me that he has encounterd them once before there are three of them.

A human that goes by the name of Kasabatic. He is a priest. He wears black armour and a black helm both of which have goden details.

An elven scout whom uses two swords known as Kalanmyr.

The other is an unidentified human I have been given no defining details of him.

I am told that this is becoming a common accurance but people must be failing to report it. This practicular case involved a woman called Grabrielle whom was the victem of the attempted mugging. *a name has been made illegable by ink* told me that Private Rayas has use for this information with regards to another investigation also although I am unsure as to what exactly.

Private Snazral Bertlebe 7th Day of Uktar

While off duty I met two victems of this group. The priest known as Kasabatic showed up convieniantly enough not far from where the two had been robbed. I apprached him and showed him some details to prove I was a watchman. I reqeusted that I search him to prove that he had nothing to do with it. His response was to run through the mines and drink an invisibility potion.

Derran of he seekers has told me he has witnessed their actions first hand. The two victems described the elf known as Klanmyr exactly as all the other victems had.

Klanmyr is usualy seen in rothe leathers, he has pale skin and wears a face mask. He commonly can be seen with two swords. The human priest wears robes but do not be fooled I have found first hand that he wears some form of armour under it. He can be found posing as a mage most times.

I'm going to reqeust a report from Derran of the seekers explaining exactly what he saw. These recurring criems and his report should be enough to get a conviction.

A greasy and poorly written report is left

On patrol outside the Rock Bottom, I was alerted to a crazed gnome attacking this wizard-fellow named Krasabat. The gnome, named Soirry Slash-something, attacked this fellow multiple times, claiming him to be a thief.

I arrested both.

Krasabat was released on bail of 400 gold.

The gnome was tried by Councillor Gaeseric for the crime of attempted murder. Councillor Gaeseric ordered the gnome exiled until such a time as it was determined whether Krasabat was guilty. If he was guilty, he is to be allowed back into town.

Private Muller

Got a message that bandits were in the mines, mugging people and robbing them. Thought it might have been gnolls, so headed out and searcehd the area for tracks. Saw those two in the mines when I got there, just outside the passage to the abandoned sections. They were talking about splitting some gold and items, and laughing about how they robbed a man. They left shortly after I got there, the one named Kalasbatic changing out of his armor and hidding his axe under robes. They both made off in seperate directions. Tracked Kalasbatic back to town and made to keep an eye on the both of them. When I had the chance, offered the elf Kalanmyr a chance to track for me a bit so I could watch him a bit closer. Looks like my hunches were right after all.

Signed Seeker Derran Widerman

I recieved this statement from Derran of the seekers.

Private Snazral Bertlebe

I'm almost ready to catch these bastards! I just can't gett the evidence. I know those bastards are guilty I'm just trying to get enough evidence to have them stoned.

Just to remind you. You should keep these copies safe or destroy them when your done. We still have the originals but these are for your eyes only for help with the investigation into these matters.

Also about that riot recently. Before you find out the wrong way I'll explain it. While off duty the half orc came along with me on an expedition. While we were down there we came accorss an oily surface, many almost died fighting strange spider creatures. Half way through the battle the half orc drank an invisibility potion to hide whilist we sweeped up the spiders.

When we were finished he proclaimed that our entire group. Some of which had almost died fighting those spiders were cowards and then spit in my face. I smacked him down and made him crawl home. To top it all off when I got back he had that book worm adelia who likely never seen a days combat in her life chew my head off.

The half orc insulted me afew times outside and I responded in kind. A few moments later he made a ending saying he was going to make a speech about the watch at the crone. Not long after that the riot started. I'm aware I am partially responsible for this and I apoligise for it. But I was off duty and in the same situation I'm sure you would have made that half orc crawl home as well. Private Snazral Bertlbe 8th day of Uktar

Snazral,

The Elf and Human both admitted to their crimes. I've handled the punishments already and believe they can be an asset to Sanctuary after all.

On another note, the riots that you say you had a small part in were benign for the most part according to Tigereyes who saw it. However, they quickly turned to violence when a blond haired woman known as Celestine came onto the scene and began working them into a frenzy with insults and snide remarks. I would have her turned over to the Tigereyes to be dealt with in a manner fitting as soon as possible. Currently we've set her fines at two thousand gold, a sum which we believe she can easily pay or earn in the course of a few weeks time.

Best wishes in your duties, Terio Menthur

Well you see some of the elf and human's victems were from upper and while you may have punished them for their crimes against the citizens of lower. The citizens of Upper still wish their retribution. However should they turn their selves in I will be sure they will likey only recieve a slap on the wrist.

As for this woman. If I could throw her down to you I would but unfortunatly the law does'nt permit me to do such things. Should she however set one foot in lower you may feel free to detain her and ensure she pays her fine.

Private Snazral Bertlebe 8th Day of Uktar

Snazral, We'll talk.

-Terio Menthur.
