A Plethora of New Features

After several days of scripting and writing, I am happy to announce several noteworthy new improvements for v955, which should be going up later today.

First of all, I have put together a comprehensive Ranger Tracking FAQ to clarify how our tracking system works. I hope this is useful to those of you who are working on building tracker-type characters. Happy hunting!

Next, in line with recent suggestions, we are switching from having characters' packs/inventories drop to the ground as soon as they are subdued/bleeding to, instead, having them only drop when the character dies or the pack is forcibly removed. The command "/c drop_pack" will allow you to drop your pack at any time. The command "/c yank_pack" will allow you to yank the pack of the nearest subdued/bleeding character to the ground, so that you can rummage through it. The command "/c collect_pack" will allow you to quickly pick up all the items in your own pack (it will only work on your own pack). The goal of this change is to substantially reduce the "inventory tetris" associated with bleeding and subdual.

Thank you erglion, Vendayan, and everybody else in the suggestions thread who contributed their ideas and enthusiasm to developing the new system. I hope -- against hope! -- that the transition to the new system is relatively bug-free.

Thirdly, the documentation for the tell filtering system has been added to the bottom of the voice commands documentation page.

Lastly, a large number of scripts have been tweaked/improved for v955. For example, although you can't yet raise player corpses as undead minions (not too far off, I hope), the spell Animate Dead has gotten some new functionality, and so I expect to see all sorts of new undead abominations being animated in the dark hidden corners of Sanctuary.
