Tamed creatures or animal companions and quests..

I have found that any time my Druid has a tamed animal or his animal companion on a quest, if they get the killing blow on the "boss" of the quest, it is unfinishable "Boggs, Mary's, dunwarren salvage pit, rat barricade, bats in town hall, to name a few" , even though it is finished. I am guessing this is a bug. I have not found a quest that this does not happen in, so maybe it is actually a purposeful way of balanceing druids out, but either way, I thought I should report it.

I think it's safe to say that if a minion gets the killing blow, and you don't get quest credit, it is in no way a means of punishing you for playing a character who uses summoned creatures/tamed creatures.

This gets Hellza annoying

Incarnates and I did 5 quests in a row without getting credit

You'd think after the first two times, you know, you might stop using your minions to kill bosses o.O

Just a thought.

Heh, Druids with 10 int, <.<

Nah, we would just accidentally tame a creature to live and it would end up killing the boss

This problem is common for characters who use summons, animal empathy, have companions or familiars, or simply use strategy beyond direct one-on-one during battle. (Catapult ammo, for example, can kill the boss and prevent you from closing a quest.)

To choose not to employ their characters talents just when fighting the boss (in order to finish a quest) is rather OOC and metagaming.

Also, often you don't choose when the boss shows up to confront you, and you may not realize your summons or companion is fighting it in order to call it off.

Even when you make the conscious effort to avoid having a summons, a tamed animal or a companion present when fighting the boss, circumstances may force you to summon or tame in order to distract the boss so you have time to heal, retreat or cast.

Looks like my old fix for this got overwritten at some point. Should be fixed in v955.
