I write to you as a representative of the Sanctuary Times, one of the most influential institutions influencing public opinion in Lower. We want the people of Sanctuary to hear your side of the story. Acceptance of our brothers comes through understanding, and it is with this in mind that we wish to run a story about your camp in the near-future. I have a few questions:

Why did you decide to settle near Sanctuary?

Who leads your camp, and what is this figure's opinion on Sanctuary? The Watch? The rebellion?

What do you wish to do here?

What has your Tribe done elsewhere?

Does your tribe tend toward following a specific deity or deities?

What can you do for the people of Sanctuary? What can the people of Sanctuary do for you?

If you are not able to do this, I will indeed answer your questions by letter as I have written many such and among few of our Tribe that care to do so.

Salazar Azkaiczav,

My name is Andrei, and I will answer your questions as best I am able. Here is our story:

The wisdom of Savras was revealed to our Seers that this is the path we should take, and the place we would call home for now. The light of Selune granted us safe journey to this place, and it was decided to make camp and see how our story might fit with that of Sanctuary. Now that we are here, we wish to make trade with the people of this town, and to learn of their ways and perhaps to share ours with them.

The highest ranks are Marko and Luca. They are the twin sons of our last chief Zindelo. He died shortly after we arrived, and many grieve his passing. But he died with blade in hand in honor at his lips. It was his time to pass into the spirit world.

Their view on Sanctuary is that of ally, trading partner and friend. We wish to work with the Watch and other officials to benefit both our Tribe and the people of Sanctuary. Not enough is known to us about this rebellion to make a judgement on the honor of either party. But we know that there are people who do well and people who do ill in every group, and that it is difficult to judge the group on the actions of the one.

The Tribe has traveled for several generations. We have done what is needed to be done to survive. We have been hunters, traders, guards, ranchers, and entertainers for most of our time in the passages known as the Underdark.

We honor Selune for her wisdom. Her way is that all who desire acceptance may have it, and all who seek her light are welcome to it. The light of the moonmaiden waxes and wanes. But know that when it is greatest it shall dwindle again, and when it is weak that inevitably it will become strong.

The vision of Savras, He of the Third Eye, also guides and shows us that which is hidden. Many of our Camp possess the sight, and are chosen by the All-Seeing to reveal His Truth. If it is his will, this truth will be shared by those who seek it and bear no ill towards the Tribe or its people. It is his vision that showed us this place called Sanctuary.

We can be ally, trading partner or friend. We seek to be treated with respect and will always do so to any we meet. Our fires are open to all who come in peace, and our wares are available to all for fair price. Those who feel the calling of our way are welcome to learn of our path and join the life of the Blade.
