Any other information that we think we should include for newbies, just let me know -- I don't want to overwhelm them, but one person was about to leave the server because he thought that we didn't support spells and magic (because he had arcane failure for being a cleric without a deity).

Easy solution to that is to keep some information in game.

"Divine spell failure due to mismatched or nonexistant diety." is a good error message when you institute things like that. Perhaps even something refering new players to the Newbie FAQ.

It should give that message already, and furthermore specify whether the deity was nonexistent or whether the alignment/domains were out of whack. If not, that's a bug.
