I don't know if anything of that kind is planned yet or even desired but it occurred to me that with that mass of Watch NPC now guarding the gates and the Tribe of the Blade living right around the corner, seemingly not appreciating their noisy neighbors they have in kobolds and goblins and all; should or could the Lower Gate area not become a bit more quaint and secure again?
Most hostile NPC spawn right in sight of the NPC (who just don't attack because their attention range is a li'l shorter), I could imagine they'd be a bit timid to be shot from the safety of the walls just for the heck of it - as many bored adventurers are already doing.
