The Society of the Ordered Mind- Who? Most do not know who these people are. Since the death of the last Ordinant, the Society has not only no presence in the city, but contains merely a self-proclaimed failure to the Society and incompetent scout, named O'Shea. A month ago a threat was reported about a possible rogue Ordinant working with Abberations, who ambushed myself and the group with myself. The Society Ordinant mocked me, and said I got what I deserved. I had never met her before, but this led me to believe that the society Ordinant was not a rogue. The society hires rogues to work with Abberations to mug adventurers to fund their crusade. This has been confirmed by an encounter with her today. She admitted that she was a failure, and the threat of this "possibly rogue" ordinant was not an actual threat, even though several people sent testimonies that this person existed and had mugged them. Now they are mostly dead. Is this a coincidence? I would have thought so, until I met Nzaghan Redsword, a possible hunter, filled with Intryzz's Implants. He was sent to the society to have them removed, and they murdered him instead of removing the implants. A week later when I asked about his presence, they said that "they did not know what I was talking about," and that "the person did not exist." They are covering for their scandelous lies.
Ordinant O'Shea admitted to far worse crimes. Her ignorance about the system of the city left me astounded. She claimed that she was immune to the law, and that the Society cannot have anything bad happen to them without express permission from the Mayor himself. When I asked her how she got in, she admitted to whoring herself out to Armand Walters to gain entrance. This is clear corruption in the Society. "Paladins" who claim that they are higher than everyone because of divine elitism claim that "their very souls are clean." Their souls cannot be seen by paladins, their armor protects against such intrusions. Their "intents" cannot be sensed by "paladins," since they have taken the small step of enchanting their gear against mind spells- under the guise of fighting the Abberation, but only to be more furtive in their operations.
In their time in the city, the Society has failed to provide protection against what they claim to fight. Intryzz still runs a prosperous inn, and his thralls continue to run around in the city. Keys to the Pyrimo are abundant, and there are few laws about abberations. They have failed to pursue their actual goal. Most of the recent members have said that they only gained entrance for the gear that was provided, and few actually hunted Abberations. The Society uses the excuse of "no abberations have invaded," but if they had, no one would know. Mindflayers would have taken you as a thrall before you could fight. Continuing the arguments against their failures, the Illithid and Beholder fight each other in the Sand Caverns. What will happen when their war is over, and the gaze turns back to us? The Watch will have to defend the city, again, and lose more honest working men because of the failures of this organization. Their property could be put to much better uses, training for the watch, a place for the displaced homeless, or a multitude of other uses. Should it be used to house corrupt cowardly murderers?
