I may be missing this somewhere, I tried searching the forums but came up empty.
I asked on IRC and everyone seemed to *know* it was four different ways, because they were personally told by a DM. Yet no posts on how it was changed.
I've heard ranger tracking is based on level alone.
I've heard level+wis.
I've heard level+search+spot+listen+lore is your tracking.
And so on. Can we get the final say on this or get it added to mechanic changes maybe?

That's the basics of it, yes. All those skills and your ranger levels are taken into account when it comes to ranger tracking.

The "formula" for ranger tracking takes many things into account, and it's a formula that's not intended to be completely open to everyone. A ranger who is well versed in many of the wilderness awareness and survival perks will be a good tracker.
