You can still walk through the stoning cage door, did it by accident while lounging next to it like my PC likes to do. Easily repeatable if you know how to do it. I can show a DM how to do it if they need.

I may be wrong, but it might be the placeable used. I know for a fact that some of the fences in the Pig Farm quest can be walked through; same kind of thing.

Yeah, the pig farms fences can be walked through, but you can do that at any angle. The cage didn't used to be able to be walked through. I've spent a few times in that cage to know, escape is futile. Except if the walls bug out!
