Missive to Sheriff Fawkes

Herein lays the report of the events leading up to the death of Spellguard Agent Tumanay and Sergeant Longbrook

Agent Tumanay had apparently discovered a duergar within Fort Mur that was offering a chance at great treasure and perhaps ancient secrets to be found in the lair of a long dead wizard. Agent Tumanay, Sergeant Longbrooks, myself, Scout Rogers, Boggy the dwarf and Amar the elven druid set off to investigate.

We arrived in Mur and struck a deal with the duergar easily enough. We were led to the lair of this wizard well out into the underdark, perhaps 3 hours walks from the badlands.

Upon entering we found that this complex was the burial ground of a long dead arch mage. Warned were we that to enter was to invite death, we nonetheless did so. Agent Tumanay was first to fall. Sergeant Casca Quinn fell soon after him.

As we decended further, Sergeant Longbrooks and myself entered a room within which vast treasures were kept. Sergeant Longbrooks, taken with greed, lept to gather up the treasures. A moment later he began babbling incohernatly, and then lunged to attack us. He slayed Boggy the dwarf and Amar the elf, and almost myself.

Sergeant Longbrooks was seemingly given some mental clarity, however, and claimed that it was a strange enchantment that had wrought his actions.

We continued on, eventually making our way to the end of this complex. With just myself, Rogers and Sergeant Longbrook left alive at this point, Longbrook confronted me. I informed him that he would likely have to stand trial for both the murders. He seemed unwilling, and assumed I was plotting against him. He attacked me. A fierce battle ensued which lasted several minutes. Eventually Sergeant Longbrooks was brought down by my hammer. Sergeant Casca Quinn was then raised by a scroll found within the complex, and we left.

All in all, casualties:

Agent Tumanay Sergeant Longbrooks Amar Boggy

Myself, Casca Quinn and Scout Rogers are the only ones to survive.

I would also like to take this oppertunity to commend Scout Rogers. His clarity of mind, bravery and skill ensured our survival. Without his quick actions I am entirely confident everyone would have fallen in that wizards lair. I understand he desires a place in The Watch Scouting division. Should my opinion mean anything, I would say that I think he would make a fine addition to this defence organization.
