*The handwriting is small and written in a flowing script. The words however, appear to be written with a shaky hand*
I'm not sure who to address this to, I was led here by a man named Kayne. Nice fella With a patch over his eye. He said you may be able to help me, or I may be of some service to you. I have just arrived, well, more *scratched out* I'm new here. I don't understand how I got here, where I am, or how I can get back to where I come from. Kayne says you seekers are searching for a way out of here. If i'm to be stuck here, I need to busy myself with something. I don't want to give up and it seems the seekers are selling hope. What can I do to help? I'm lost mate *some blobs of ink stain the page here*
Signed
Nicolai Djinn
*The following appears to be written hastily and not as neat*
Almost forgot the important bits, I'm staying at the bar. I forget the name. It's by some cage with a fella selling rocks to toss at people.

The letter is found, read + pocketed by a very pale, tired-looking Seeker with blood-red hair + enormous dark circles under her glinting black eyes.

Cog finds the letter in M's discarded jacket on the chair in the common area while looking for something to pry a gnomish firegusher open. Before the note is incinerated completely by the resulting blast, he manages to send off a reply.
Dear Nicolai,
I'd love a chance to get together with you to discuss your letter, we're always on the lookout for people interested in becoming affiliated with our group. Drop by anytime, and ask for Cog.

That night, Cog finds a steaming pile of rothe dung in the middle of his bed. Jammed into the middle of the pile is a small, folded scrap of mushroom parchment.
On the parchment, a jerky, but legible hand
Barmy geartinker! How many jackets do you think I have?
