Draft Decree in Defence against the Illithid Threat

A copy of the following proposal is delivered to the Spellguard Enclave, the Spellguard Associates, the Seekers, the Tigereye Compound and the Society of the Ordered Mind Chapterhouse. Decree in Defence against the Illithid Threat

Restrictions upon the Pyrimo Unless authorised, visiting the establishment known as the Pyrimo Inn is a serious criminal offence. Depending upon the severity of the breach, offenders may be charged with capital crimes for endangering Sanctuary.

Security against Illithid infiltration All escapees who prior to breaking free were the property of an illithid collective, must report to the Watch, the Tigereyes or the Spellguard within three days of their arrival. For the first month of their habitation they are to report to one of these law enforcement bodies once every tenday. Failure to do so is a serious criminal offence.

Conversing, engaging or expressing allegiance with illithids is considered an endangerment of Sanctuary and a capital offence.

All enforcement bodies are encouraged to suggest amendments to the enclosed decree.

Those organisations that are in agreement with the contents should sign the document to demonstrate their support.

Sergeant Greyward

The proposal is resent along with the following missive

Merely ignoring the threat will not make it disappear. I urge all organisations relevant to the security of Sanctuary to look over the proposal and address their concerns or a pledge support.

The proposed legislation will be submitted upon the formation of the newly elected Council. The agreement of your organisation is essential in securing the notice of the members of the Council.

Sergeant Greyward

Agent Archibald leaves a note for Rueth

I will bring it before the Spellguard, for approval. Excellent ideas.

[a letter for Sergeant Greyward is delivered to the Watchhouse]

You wish to improve security against Illithid infiltration by making it a capital offense to engage them in battle? It's unfortunate that you do not possess the clarity to see that we already have the attention of the Illithid. Not attacking them won't make them forget about us.

A ban on visiting the Pyrimo would accomplish little as the dubious characters who frequent the place could care less about the laws of Sanctuary.

Know that the threat never goes ignored. You will however not have the support of the Society of the Ordered Mind in this.

Sincerely, Ambrose Crownguard Paladin of the Society of the Ordered Mind

Greyward:

Your draft is under review.

General reply: [Private letter, Sergeant Greyward] 24th day of Uktar in the year 150 Agent Delgado, Spellguard

    Greyward,

the Spellguard will support your proposal as long as Sanctuary officials will not require seeking the council's approval to conduct investigations on the premises of the Pyrimo Inn. Having to spend precious time drafting request in order to enter thatso-called establishment in pursuit of criminals would make our work even harder than it is now, if that is even possible.

Ammended 24th day of Uktar Decree in Defence against the Illithid Threat

Restrictions upon the Pyrimo Unless authorised, visiting the establishment known as the Pyrimo Inn is a serious criminal offence. Depending upon the severity of the breach, offenders may be charged with capital crimes for endangering Sanctuary.

Members of law enforcement bodies (that is the Watch, Spellguard, Tigereyes and Seekers) are automatically granted permission to enter the Pyrimo Inn, if it is in the course of active duty.

A missive is dispatched to the Seeker Headquarters Seekers,

Idleness is not a luxury that we can indulge. If your organisation has concerns, address them to me. Else arrive at a decision, and quickly.

The proposal will be submitted to the newly elected Council within the tenday. We cannot afford apathy on matters concerning the security of Sanctuary.

Sergeant Greyward

Seargeant Greyward,

We'll have a decision on this for you tomorrow.
