Letters to Worn, Lynette, Nish, Wyric & Prideaux

[Individual letters are left for the following Council Candidates: Worn, Lynette, Nish, Wyric and Prideaux.

Your letter is written in a sloppy hand. There seems to be large ink blotches on the parchment as if the writer left the pen in one place too long, thinking about what he should write.]

Friend,

I am writing to inform you of some important developments in the race for Council. I'm not the type of person to make such things public, but seeing that you are a public persona I figure that you might find some use out of it. It's definitely something that needs to be known.

I am sending this letter to other candidates, and whoever makes it public first will receive my vote and the vote of my friends. All of the information granted to you in this letter can be verified by official Watch records.

On the eve of Uktar 22 a trial for a criminal known as Mhurg was held. This Mhurg was a Duergar -guest- in our city. The evidence was overwhelming and he was swiftly found guilty. Testimony was given both by some warrior named Sonj and a guy named Delorin Drake.

The Duergar was found guilty of killing multiple citizens of our city, and he was only given Exile. Councilor Bhast, who conducted the trial, even attempted to make a deal with the Duergar in exchange for a no guilty verdict. He did so openly and without shame.

This is all in the official records. Sergeant Quinn gave testimony at the trial as well and can vouch for the accuracy of this note. As you might imagine, the Duergar was set upon by an angry mob after he exited the city gates and did not survive. Many cursed Bhast's name for not allowing him to be stoned.

We request that you make this information public. We are in no position to do so, and do not have the credentials that you have. We also fear reprisal from the Sheriff, as you may know he and Bhast are very close.

Signed, A Concerned Private

Ickerous' letter is read and then left for Sheriff Fawkes at the Watch House with the attachment

Sheriff Fawkes

I found this letter left for me at the Last Stand Inn, I thought it best to go to you

Ickerous Prideaux

Thank you Ickerous, as you are aware the letter is a blatant forgery. We had no privates in the court room. I am pleased you wish to maintain honesty in the world.

Sheriff Fawkes

The Letter is Forwarded to Sergeant Quinn, followed by the note.

Any truth in this, Casca? Much as I hate the Bhastard, This don't sound like him.

Your mate

-Worn

Worn,

Yes and No. The letter is fake. There was no Private present in the court room at the time, and the details were not provided in the file.

Bhast asked the Duergar if he knew where the other Duergar were. At no point did he offer the Duergar a deal of any sort. He merely gave him a less harsh sentence than I personally would have. Bhasts judgement was not the best, but it was not corrupt.
