I've been on EFU now for what seems close to a year now, and a few of the quests are getting a bit stale. I'm sure this has been suggested before, but I'd like to raise it again: Is there a feasible way that scripted quests can get either of the following:
A. a random load on server reset that changes the quest a bit (moving traps, altering monsters, or even more sustantial changes). For instance, the Zurkhwood Factory gets pretty old hat after a while and certain characters will obviously do WAY better there than others with the right load of weapons or spells. Xander could start the quest with the same basic script, but once the area loads, things might change. Could be that Boggs was using goblin slaves who have killed him and taken over, possibly a weak illithid or intellect devourer is mind-controlling folks in there, who knows!
B. Manually change some of the quests on a more established schedule if it's too cumbersome to automate it. For instance, the recent changes to Ettercaps have been a blast to deal with. The first time I led a party through there since they went into effect was once again a REAL adventure. Even the second run was great since some party members thought they "knew" the quest and got hammered (I think we lost half the party on that one). I'm not saying make the change at every reset on every quest, but every 4-6 months seems not enough.
Thoughts?
