A child, jingling a modest purse of coin, attempts to track down Jeguao (Wren), and read to him aloud a letter from James Thorne
Well met,
I am uncertain if this writing will be of any use, as I am not fully convinced you will even recall me. I am James Thorne, you may remember me by my golden bracers, and our frequent works together about town. In my search for competent allies, my thoughts have returned repeatedly to you, and your great ability in combat. In the near future I shall be undertaking a task of great difficulty, which may very well span several months. I will require, for my own safety, a bodyguard of immense skill, and it is my thought that you would be well able to fulfil this role. I have at my disposal a good deal of wealth, and - should all go according to plan - will have a great deal of power and influence, which I will be very willing to share with those closest to me, especially those who excel in the duties they are given. In short, I wish you to be my personal guard, possibly amongst others, in exchange for wealth, both gold and otherwise, as well as a share of power, if such is your wish.
James A. Thorne
PS. I have paid this child a sum to deliver this letter, and return to me with a response from you. I hope you will at least agree to a more personal meeting rather than dismissing this prospect altogether.
