*Added to the note that Longbrook put on the posters*
It would seem that this Sergeant does not relay all the pertinant facts.
While searching for some escaped slaves reported to be in the wastes, a band of drow attacked my party. We defended ourselves as well as we could, but we were defeated by a great drow battle master. This battle master said that he knew our group was from Sanctuary, and that he was bringing a host with him to attack the city. My party was not at the gates of Traensyr, neither did we murder any Drow. Any Drow that died had attacked us first, and we defended ourselves while trying to withdraw. Longbrook was not there when this attack occured, and his understanding of these events comes from my own testimony. It is a shame that he is not a better listener.
Longbrook is foolish if he thinks that the Drow do not know where we are. I did not lead them back here, I was set upon by a superior force, and told that they sought this cities destruction. I ran back to Sanctuary as quickly as I could to warn the poplulace, and I helped deffend the city when the drow did arrive. After the attack I sought Longbrook out, and did not reist when he arrested me.
Longbrook arrested me for endangering the city, and I was put on trial for my actions. Not only was I found inocent, but the councilor that judged my case told everyone that I was a hero, and to be commended for trying to help escaped slaves, and not backing down when accosted by those who are our enemies.
I have defended this city countless times. I have given up all that I have to make sure that our citizens are protected. I bear the scars of these battles with pride.
As for my knowledge of the law, there is only what is posted in the Town Hall and the few books that are for sale in the Scriviners shop. I have read all of these, and have asked both the council and the Watch for any other written works of the law. Neither has been forthcoming with additional texts, so I remain ignorant of any laws in addition to those that are currently posted.
I uphold these laws. I do not break my oaths, neither do I break the laws of Sanctuar, nor do I break the laws of my god Tyr.
Those who have fought beside me know who I am. I give everything I have to preserve the life and health of those around me. I do not seek fame or fortune, or power. I strive only to serve my fellow citizens to the best of my abilities.
I deffend the weak, protect the inocent, feed the hungry, give comfort to those who have lost all hope. So have I always done, so shall I ever do.
