I don't recall the month I started Ferrington, but I think I played him for an exciting seven months. As he often said, "An Agent's work is never finished," which cannot be farther from the truth, as he would have a new task lined up the instant he finished what was his current, no joke.
I played him as a disturbed individual that kept his past hidden and with a distorted sense of justice. He often contradicted himself and focused on his failure more than anything, scooting his successes behind him, only to be forgotten. A man of cold efficiency and little personality (unless in public), he could never tolerate new Agents and adventurers, as they didn't have the professionalism he sought when working. All of which paid off well:
Spellguard Distinguished Ring, given to him by Officer Barkely for his good work.
Fist of Law, a treasure he found on a DM Quest ran by Orpheus. That quest, I dare add, set up the most interesting of roleplay circumstances during and after, that it is the best one I've been on. :)
Actually based off of two characters, Delgado and Christina (Kiaring's Helmite Knight with a sick sense of justice), I attempted to make him among the most evil of the server, yet among the most important of its defenders, as his evil was what he used in his line of daily work. With that in mind, I'll let you guess what happened here:
And some trivia: - Contego made the most Spellguard arrests, reaching 36. - He arrested/made notations/interrogated 43 people in his career. - Wrote four research papers, ranging from animatrons to Dunwarren to spellcasting. - Murdered seven innocent people (possibly ten, one on accident), brutalized two. Among them, women and children. All of which were done in his work to protect the city. [It should be noted that these were his actions, unknown to the Spellguard]
Though of course he had to die off eventually, and I'm rather pleased with how it went down. Of course, he had to die to something creepy, which makes me wonder what happened to his corpse.
While I have an arsenal of awesome screenshots and memories, I can't make this thread too long! So with that, a series of random screenies that I can show:
Good luck guessing at this one!
How romantic! I think I'm going to go puke.
What kind of person would I be for not recognizing Taddle for the awesomeness he really was? (BFF!)
I like this picture because Varlam is perhaps the most innocent Agent that's been through the Spellguard, to my knowledge. And yet, here he is, hard at work looking unusually dark...
Hyper and Morn occasionally liked to send me tells going "Fairyington!" now and then. Which reminds me of the time that Ferrington was able to whip Lathain in pixie form, oh the embarrassment!
These are excellent screenshots of a fight that broke out between the Tigereye and the Watch in the good ol' days before the Staircase bombing. Sergeant Durris fought Tigereye Wilks, sword versus fist, respectively, and Durris won. Then the Tigereye decided to finish the job. Meanwhile, Delgado and I just stood there scratching our chins, or in the case of Delgado, scratching our creepy helmets.
I suppose these screenshots won't mean much if you don't understand what's happening. Here, Jastran Moonfall is about to be stoned after revealing corruption within the Watch. However, the Spellguard were able to summon the Councilors and the Mayor to stop the stoning and demand a re-trial, which not only saved Moonfall's life, but started a renaissance for the Watch.
Sickly law enforcers during the Moanderite Plague.
While I give out kudos to everyone I've played with, I'd like to especially recognize, in alphabetical order: BoonOfTheMoon (Thienna) Caddies (Wilks) Cabre (Ten-Irons) Denethen (Taddle) ExileStrife (Strife) (Folwinkle, forgot your player name, sorry!) Hypervision (Moonfall) (Blindlespinndle) MithrilDragon (Valerius) (Hood) Nickless (Lindgren) ScottyB (Nikitovich) Terry (Fryar) wcsherry (Castille)
And I know I've forgotten an arsenal of people. For that, I apologize! But to those people, thank you for the fun times and of course, the cherished memories. Who would've guessed that pressing buttons and watching pixels could be so much fun?
