A letter dropped off at the Beacon

Elym.

I'm guessing you're the one whose going to be reading this. Anyway, to get to the point; I was wondering if you would allow the Beacon to be used as a place to hold a few political forums for the Council candidates? I know you wish to remain neutral, but this is a prime opportunity to both raise awareness of the Beacon's efforts, as well as to use the space to help educate people as to the elections. I'll make time for a meeting, if you'd like. You can reach me at the Crone.

Lynette

Dear Miss Lynette,

Your point on raising awareness is well taken and I agree to allow such forums on two conditions:

First, the Beacon will make no endorsments or denouncements of any of the candidates.

And second, any and all candidates who wish to partake must not be excluded, regardless of their views.

Provided we can agree on that we would be delighted to be your hosts.

Sincerely, Asclepius Elym

Asclepious Elym,

I would of course be happy to allow all candidates to come, as this is a chance for them to demonstrate their views and debate in a safe and controlled environment; with any citizens that wish to come free to do so. The Beacon's assured neutrality is vital for this to work, and as such I would not presume to ask you to side with any one candidate.

Lynette
