Open Lock

Very few things seem to be openable with the open lock skill. While I realize there are some areas you don't want rogues to go into, or don't have anything behind them, but nearly everything is specific key access. I've found one door that can be picked but I need to be about at least level 10 with +1 lockpicks to get past the 40 DC (or find skill boosting items... don't know if any exist for lockpicking).

So unless there's a big area full of pickable stuff I've yet to find, I sincerely recommend increasing the amount of locks that can be bypassed.

Seconded. Especially on quests, it seems like lockpicking never happens.

I disagree. I got in a locking/unlocking fight with a creature just last night, and that was the most fun using lockpicking will -ever- be. :D

Finally I had to just kick the damn door open and hold it. That works too.

I would like to see lockpick used a bit more for other things though... freeing prisoners without having to kill their guards, inciting a riot... opening chests that would otherwise be unopeneable without getting a key... perhaps it can also be used as a "tinkering" ability, used on animatrons, machine parts, or something like that.

There are SOOOO many uses I can think of for open lock around the module, and more planned.

This might be a good spot to ask: What are the mechanics for the spell 'knock'? Like, what DC locked doors does it open?

Knock opens all non-magically sealed doors, and all doors that do not need a specific key (mostly because of the NWN engine).

Hm...I've found a door that can be opened appearently (It gave a pick lock message instead of needing a specific key). Knock didn't work on it however.
