Sir Edward Vendrall, Last Stand Inn

Sir Vendrall,

I write this to you as a more extensive conclusion from our earlier verbal dialogue.

Our primary impediment is the gate. I ask you to order your Knights to be on alert for any citizens, and especially children, acting strangely-particularly in the Lower Ward. It is highly likely that there are several keys still within Sanctuary's walls.

The vampires are reported to buy slaves for the purposes of feeding off of them. Once we have located the slave routes employed by these vampires, the assistance of your Knights will be necessary to halt these transfers and cut off the vampires' supply of fresh blood. Should we have failed to locate a key to their gates by this time, assaults upon these vampires may yield one.

We do not possess blessed stakes or holy water to use against these vampires. I would ask that your Knights provide such, if they are able. If they are not, we will need to procure these from the Helmite or Hoaran temples. You will also wish to know that, although garlic does not grow in Sanctuary, there is an unnatural, twisted cave within the Canal Ward where seedlings that appear similar to garlic are found. A gnome often hires adventurers to attempt to cleanse the cave. Whether these seedlings would serve to ward against vampires as garlic does, I cannot say, but it may be within your interest to investigate.

Once our means of access to the coven is available, the Seekers will assist your Knights in your efforts to destroy the coven. It is also highly likely that other adventurers will be willing to aid, given the danger of this coven.

With committment to their defeat, we will prevail.
