Councilor Candidate Prideaux
Where I stand:
Legalization of Abjurer's Nightshade Working in conjunction with the Order of the Spellguard Mages, I will investigate the possibility of Abjurer's Nightshade becoming a legal ward. Abolition of the Monstrous/Slaver races laws These laws have weakened Sanctuary and left her without allies to rely upon. They have endangered us and will continue to place us at jeopardy as we alienate and infuriate those that would trade and ally with us. The Watch The Watch has faithfully served and protected Sanctuary since its founding and they are now in dire need of support and bolstering their funding should draw more citizens to serve. The Watch is also working towards creating a new scouting agency to report enemy advancements in the region so they may be prepared for imminent invasions. Traditionally this role was filled by the Seekers, but they have since neglected their duties.
The Seekers The Seekers have neglected their reconaisance duties and left the town caught off guard time and time again. They seem to be unable to cover their tracks, as their slave raids is oft to draw down our enemies' wrath upon us, further weakening the Watch. I stand for greatly reduced Seeker funding to go to the Watch instead.
The Spellguard The Spellguard has been functioning amiably, their animatrons protecting the city time and time again when flesh and mind falter. While I would love to see their funding increased, I am content to leave it as it is for this term till the Watch and Sanctuary's defences have recovered.
Animation of the Dead in Dunwarren These laws are just and will remain in effect so long as I am in office.
Clarification of unwritten laws If I am elected into office I shall endeavour to put to paper laws that the Watch and Spellguard already enforce or would like to enforce.
By-elections Already Sanctuary has lost three councilors, this has bogged down the Council with additional paperwork and made it even slower. I stand for by-elections mid term to replace those that have fallen or are unfit to remain in office.
Peaceful relations I am already seeking out allies to stand with Sanctuary. While I am not gullible enough to think any of the nearby settlments have a benevolent bone within them whatsoever, I feel we may find temporary allies in the most unlikeliest of places to help protect us for a time. As well as this, I will actively seek trading partners to supply us with much needed supplies for coin.
Poverty The poverty trap facing many residents of Sanctuary is troublesome. Children have taken to begging in the streets and many suffer without having a proper trade to rely upon. To help these people escape the squalor they have been forced into, I will be investigating the feasability of spellcasting apprenticeships for the brighter children with the Spellguard and some of the more docile, non-adventuring, spellcasting residents of Sanctuary. Additionally, for those too old or absent minded to learn the intricasies of the art, I will try to clear more land suitable for mushroom farming so they may take up a respectable trade and supply Sanctuary with much needed food.
Expansion There is much unused land in the nearby ruins that are not overly dangerous. I stand for clearing out the rubble and renting out the homes there to adventurers and those that can handle their own.
If you are concerned about any issue, please feel free to contact me.
Elect me if you wish a more safe, productive and prosperous Sanctuary
