A letter left at the Town Hall for available members of the Sanctuary Town Council.
Councilors,
I have only recently arrived in Sanctuary, but I have taken notice of the derelict condition of the local Mausoleum. Izarious Patten, the caretaker, complains of being 'overworked' and 'understaffed', and leaves bodies abandoned for days before any burial at all. If his neglect of the dead isn't clear enough, the dead themselves are rising up. Report after report of undead and rising dead indicates the terrible state of the Masoleum. The current caretaker is so overwhelmed by the dead angry at this abuse that he's about to destroy the passageway to the lower tombs itself.
Sanctuary's fallen deserve better. Help us do honor to the dead, for their strivings in life brought Sanctuary to where it is now. Forgetting them is to forget where we are now.
I realize you have many pressing concerns concerning the fate of Sanctuary itself, but I urge you not to forget or neglect the dead. It's clear from the state of the Masoleum that one man is not enough to tend to such an important and overwhelming job. My proposal to you would be, good Councilmembers, that you allow the followers of Kelemvor to take over burial services and allow us to oversee the Masoleum.
We, the Knighthood of the Eternal Order, are followers of Kelemvor and have 8 members currently within Sanctuary. We have experience caring for the dead, and serve the Lord of the Dead. We would gladly take over running the Mausoleum that Caretaker Patten neglects. The dead deserve Kelemvor's blessings in death, and I urge you to consider our offer, if not only to pay respects to the dead, but to help us put a stop to a rising threat to the security of Sanctuary's citizens. I will be available to speak anytime you wish
Kelemvor's blessing, Sir Edward Vendrall Knighthood of the Eternal Order
