Marpenoth 28th, 1373. Regard: Private Sheevs. Evidence Request.

My name is Private Longbrook, and I am currently leading an internal investigation on behalf of the Watch, regarding the accusations against Private Sheevs. I have three questions I'd ask, that will greatly aid our case.

1.) A list of witnesses that were present at the crime scene.

2.) We request any evidence that Seekers have that proves a murder took place. Is there a body that can be indentified, for example?

3.) We will need the name, and verification papers of the registered Seeker that was allegedly murdered.

1) The sole surviving witness of the brutal attack is a Seeker Aspirant by the name of Grognak. He witnessed the assault upon Seeker Thompson by a, as of then, unknown watchman and associates. I will make him available should you wish to question him.

2)No bodies were recovered as the entrance to the cavern was caved in shortly after the attack. If you wish the location so you may begin excavation, I will be happy to provide it. As of now Seeker funding and manpower is far too low for us to see to this in person. We take Seeker Thompson's failure to report back along with Aspirant Grognak's testimony accompanied by the witness reports of those who accompanied this Private Cortyk as value enough the attack took place. We would also point out this watchman's flight from justice as damning evidence.

3) We do not keep 'verification papers' on Seeker members. I've some of Seeker Thompson's old reports and maps if you would care to see them however; as well as the report he filed detailing his intention to utalize the Burning Beard's in a daring slave rescue shortly before his death.

The Seekers have committed no crimes, and we have no fear of any nebulous threats of facing a trial. Private Sheevs committed a set of brutal murders-it is he who is the criminal, and since you have stated that he is slain, then it would appear justice has been done. Your insults against our entire organization are noted, but you will likely find your efforts better spent attending to your duties, rather than carrying out a pointless personal vendetta against the Seekers.
