[A letter to Sherrif Fawkes]

Sherrif Fawkes,

Should a witness be needed, I would like to offer my testimony to Seeker Lucas' threats made against Private Welles (I believe it was Welles - whichever one of you men carries a golden sword) in the Watch House shortly after today's trial. The private requested to search the Seeker's person for contraband and Lucas resisted. Lucas then threatened to 'lop off his head' and drew two blades - a rapier and a long dagger (perhaps 10 inches) that seemed to be enchanted with magical coldness.

I hope I'm not the only one who's of the opinion that this blathering idiot has been raving long enough. I worry that he may exploit the actions of Private Sheeves to reinforce his influence over those who distrust the Watch. With Winston jockeying for power in Lower, we cannot afford to have Lucas spouting off about every possible conspiracy theory. It's likely that he'll simply burn himself out, but the damage he could cause in the meantime is troublesome.

If there's anything I can do to help with the matter, please let me know. I can be reached at the Spellguard Tower.
