On Scribed Notes

Is it possible to:

  • Name scribed notes?
  • Allow for scribed notes in one's inventory to be duplicated so you won't have to write everything yourself?

“The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in times of great moral crises maintain their neutrality” - Dante Alighieri

That wouldn't surprise me, since it's the extremists that create hell in the first place -- of course they'd make it worse for the rest of us!

Naming would be nice, yes. I think there is an option when you have just had the first note scribed to [Copy] for a few gold.

I came to think about another idea considering the scribe: Depending on your status or whatever, you might want your letters or notes to stand out, to be written on a certain high-quality parchment etc.

Suggestion: -When you choose the "I want something scribed" option, the scribe asks you "On what kind of paper would you like it written" and you can tell him "Normal/Simple", "High-quality" etc.

Then he asks you what ink you would like it written in, and not until then, you get to start saying what he should write.

High.quality paper and special, coloured inks will of course cost more than a simple, normal note.

So if I go to the scribe, and asks to have a note written, I would ask him to "Write it on High-quality, ivory white parchment", and to "Use a rare, purple ink".

For this to be visible to the reader, just have, for this case, [This note is written in a purple ink on high-quality parchment.] added at the top, before the messege itself when you use the scribed note's "Unique power".

And in this case, the scribe would charge something like: Base cost (15, is it?) + H-Q Parchment (+~10) + Purple Ink (+~10).

Yes, but that's not what I'm talking about. This function only allows you to get a cheap copy of a note you just had scribed. I was talking about a way to duplicate a note you already have in your inventory (and thus it would only work with named notes). With this you'd tell the scribe to make a duplicate of a note after which he'd search through your inventory and list any scribed notes you have on you, and then you'd pick the one(s) you want copied.

I don't think you can name notes at the moment. But it would certainly help at knowing what your reading. Picking up a item that mentions the words 'Super secret plans to murder citizens of sanctuary' in it and then getting stopped by the watch for a search and they read this, you'll end up in extremely hot water. It's not like you can't see titles of flyer on the floor ether in real life.

Titles for notes!

... you can't.

These are just a few things on my long list of improvements to make to note scribing.
