Barkskin , Stoneskin and other similar effects- Do they succesfully disguise someone. In the past I have treated it so, but would like DM clarification on this. (If they look like a walking tree or rock, no way to know their identity by a quick visual check)

The spell effects can be an effective part of a disguise, although interacting with people the subject knows allows those people to identify the subject.
