Spellguard Poster: Illegal Spellcasting

These fliers are posted around Sanctuary, and posted at the entrance to the Ruins

    Citizens of our Sanctuary

Illegal Spellcasting is on the rise due to recent rumours that have suggested that Nightshade is a legal way to bypass the Spellguard's spellcasting regulations.

    THIS IS INCORRECT!

Spellcasting within Dunwarren*, even when Nightshade is consumed, is still crime. It is punishable by minor jailtime and/or a fine.

Nightshade is not one hundred percent effective. Nightshade does not protect against other types of magical scrying; such as drow patrols, illthids, beholders and deeper, darker things. With Sanctuary in its current state we cannot afford to risk the lives of our citizens with unwarded spellcasting attracting our enemies.

These regulations are written to protect the citizens, not to shackle them. Adventurers, do not endanger our town and its inhabitants with reckless spellcasting. The Spellguard will be cracking down on illegal spellcasting. You will be arrested if caught casting illegally.

Aid the town today, report illegal spellcasters. Those providing information that leads to the arrest and conviction of an illegal spellcaster will be paid a fee of one hundred and fifty coins.

May Sanctuary Prosper,

The Order of the Spellguard

*Dunwarren includes Upper & Lower Sanctuary. It also includes the svirfneblin ruins and the bowels of the machine.
