I was indeed heartened to see your reply to my idea of establishing a true military force here in Sanctuary.

My fervant belief is that a conscripted force, trained hard and drilled would be more than enough to hold back any further attacks made on this city. A loyal force of storm troopers, equiped and trained and motivated could sweep all opporsition before them. Imagine the glorious sight of rank upon rank of proud soldiers, a forest of glittering steel marching as one in linked step, arms held out in stiff salute.

We have priests of various faiths who's patheons include gods devoted to warfare. Clangeddin is the dwarven good of battle although I follow Moradin personally. I know of Tempus is the planner of battles for humans however I am unfamiliar with other races gods of war but if there are priests of such faiths, they should be included in the Balmy army as a matter of course. Religeon is a great inspiration to those about to confront the ultimate test, that being the trial of fire, combat.

Now I've have a few personal differences with your current Sheriff but that is of no importance. Indeed I'm willing to rise above such petty differences, put aside mere squabbles so as to bring forth something truly glorious. I will no longer be concerning myself toworrying about such trivial matters that have no bearing on the mission.

Yet, what IS important is that Sanctuary rebuild it's defences, cease it's internal squabbles, established a strong government based on the rule of law and above all, crush it's enemies without mercy. That is the basis of a strong state who is not afraid to embrace the hot iron of change. Only the hotest fire will forge the strongest steel.

What I envisiage is that the watch remains as it always was, the law enforcement arm of Sanctuary and continue it's tradition of bringing villians to justice. The army though will be an arm of the state, a true military force reserved for the defense, and if need be attacks, on Sanctuarys foes who I know are legion.

I believe I could persuade a number of dwarves to sign up to a force that is purely military and I would urge that other races volunteer themselves to become soldiers of the state. I know the elves have a war band and logic would suggest that these forces be combined under a single command.

As you know well, these times are very dangerous to all that reside in Sanctuary or call it home. As such, I too see the dire importance of a purely military standing force. A force that trains, drills, and adequately equips their personnel for the sole purpose of taking the fight to any who would threaten Sanctuary’s interests. I think there is a way in which we both can have what we want…

I would like to proposition your cadre of personnel to enlist within the Civil Defense League. The CDL will receive equipment and funding from the watch, however I would like to gear their focus purely towards military actions and campaigns. If this is some interest to you and your cadre of military minded personnel, then let’s meet to discuss the details.
