Mister Fawkes,
I informed you that a trial occured as a result of the deaths of the two watchmen. A trial was conducted and a sentance passed by Councilor Graiden.
-Councilor Tyrell
That is not a full investigation. There is not even a transcript and the Seekers have not made any donations for any such fund. You should be disgusted by this travesty as I am disgusted at your misleading statements.
There is not even a trial transcript as legally required by Sanctuary law. If the Council will not open an investigation, the Watch will do so. I had prefered to make it an investigation under the guidance of the city to ensure all realized it was fair and handled properly.
You are leaving the Watch with no other choice but to do this directly. There is no full investigation into the events as we have been demanding, even worse there is no transcript of the case as legally required and absolutely no follow up by the Seekers or their agents.
The law itself is being disregarded by your willingness to allow the facts of this case to remain obfuscated and hidden in direct contrast to the dogma of Oghma himself which compels us to reveal that which is hidden.
Lieutenant Fawkes
Lieutenant Fawkes,
No one is interested in covering anything up. It appears some paperwork went missing, but the simple fact of the matter is that Sheriff Graidan conducted a trial. I do not see the necessity of further investigation, Sheriff Graidan did not see the necessity of further investigation - however if you believe that the resources of the Watch, during this time of crisis, are best put to this purpose then I wish you all success.
I took the liberty of walking over and searching through some old records, please find enclosed the trial record for the death of Sergeant Felzkirn.

We never meant to kill anyone. [2006-11-07 21:32:28] Private Peterson<possessed by Metro Pack> (Sanc...h House) [TK]: But they hurt! [2006-11-07 21:32:28] Private Peterson<possessed by Metro Pack> (Sanc...h House) [TK]: And he couldn't move... [2006-11-07 21:33:28] Denten Folwinkle (Sanc...h House) [TK]: It was a terrible mistake, Peterson. A terrible, terrible mistake. [2006-11-07 21:33:28] Ronus Graidan<possessed by Metro Pack> (Sanc...h House) [TK]: Seeker Folwinkle, tell me. [2006-11-07 21:33:28] Ronus Graidan<possessed by Metro Pack> (Sanc...h House) [TK]: What do you think your sentence should be? [2006-11-07 21:34:28] Ronus Graidan<possessed by Metro Pack> (Sanc...h House) [TK]: This man had a family, and meant a great deal to many of us here. [2006-11-07 21:34:28] Denten Folwinkle (Sanc...h House) [TK]: I don't know, Councilor Sir. I don't know. [2006-11-07 21:34:28] Ronus Graidan<possessed by Metro Pack> (Sanc...h House) [TK]: I think I do. [2006-11-07 21:35:28] Denten Folwinkle (Sanc...h House) [TK]: I - I'd do anything to bring him back if I could! We really never meant to harm anyone, yet the Watch is too well trained. [2006-11-07 21:35:28] Ronus Graidan<possessed by Metro Pack> (Sanc...h House) [TK]: Sgt Fezlkirn had a great love of history, and learning. [2006-11-07 21:35:28] Ronus Graidan<possessed by Metro Pack> (Sanc...h House) [TK]: None of us, even the most jaded, fault you for your intentions that spurred your actions. [2006-11-07 21:36:28] Ronus Graidan<possessed by Metro Pack> (Sanc...h House) [TK]: So, here is my verdict. [2006-11-07 21:36:28] Ronus Graidan<possessed by Metro Pack> (Sanc...h House) [TK]: There will be a Sgt Fezlkirn memorial fund for those interested in learning, teaching, and sharing the history of our home. [2006-11-07 21:38:28] Ronus Graidan<possessed by Metro Pack> (Sanc...h House) [TK]: Your sentence will be to raise the initial gold needed to start this fund, and to take an active part in deciding who the recipients will be as time goes on. [2006-11-07 21:38:28] Ronus Graidan<possessed by Metro Pack> (Sanc...h House) [TK]: The amount you raise for this fund to become reality, is up to you. [2006-11-07 21:39:28] Ronus Graidan<possessed by Metro Pack> (Sanc...h House) [TK]: When you have it, please contact me and we will discuss the details of how it will be organized. [2006-11-07 21:39:28] Denten Folwinkle (Sanc...h House) [TK]: It would be an honor to do this. [2006-11-07 21:40:28] Ronus Graidan<possessed by Metro Pack> (Sanc...h House) [TK]: Good, then. Dismissed.
As for Sergeant Boris, it's well known by now that he was instrumental in the Walters slaving ring. I seem to recall that some mention of his death was made in a ruling made by Councilor Archibald in the trial that overturned Jastran Moonfall's sentence. If you'd like I could dig around again and see if a transcript is available.
As for the details of the Felzkirn Memorial Fund, unfortunately Sheriff Graidan (deceased) or Denten Folwinkle (not in Sanctuary, possibly deceased himself) would be the ones to know what happened with the fund. I do recall the Sheriff mentioning that the Seeker had managed to amass a very considerable sum of gold for the fund, however.
On a personal note, Sergeant Felzkirn was a personal friend of mine. We met at least once a ten-day along with some friends in the treasury department to play a game and share our thoughts about Sanctuary, past and future. I was deeply saddened by his death. Life in Sanctuary is always full of tragedy. I assure you, I would be the last person to seek to dishonor the memory of his passing with obscuring the truth in any way.
Adelia Tyrell
If Sergeant Felzkirn was a friend of yours Councilor, I am disturbed that you are not considering the underlying questions the Seeker's actions raise.
1) If the Seekers were aware of slaving operations within the Watch, why did they not alert the Council or the Spellguard prior to entering the Watch House? The presence of either force might have averted Felzkirn's death.
2) If the Seekers had so much knowledge of the slaving operations, why is it that they have still not uncovered where these slaves were being taken or sold? Rescuing them should be a primary focus for the Seekers currently. I have suggested an avenue of research to the Seekers several times with no indication of a follow-up.
3) During the recent conflict with Slaal'teesh, why did the Seekers fail to provide the Watch with adequate information to aid us in planning our responses to these threats? Necessitating the Watch to employ its own scouts and information gatherers?
4) Why are the Seekers openly tolerating members who openly urge citizens to defy the laws and attack members of the Watch and Spellguard? At the same time, several Seekers have recently been arrested for various crimes. Unfortunately in at least one instance, I've had to discipline one of my own men for the overzealous nature of his response--but in several cases the Seekers have openly defied the city laws and the Watch. The lack of any official action from the Council to reign in the Seeker's increased hostility to law and order is chaffing the Watch privates and creating a situation that is difficult to control and may result in growing hostility between these institutions.
As Seekern Denten himself claims, the death of Felzkirn happened because our men are well trained warriors. When the Seekers entered the building, they defended themselves from what appeared as a hostile attack.
Had the Spellguard or a member of the Council accompanied their forces; the deaths would have been prevented. The Spellguard can handle arrests or a Council might have talked the Watchmen into allowing the Seekers to peacefully conduct an operation.
Furthermore, it is highly disturbing that a precedent has been set that one defense league may without official notice to the Council or the other defense leagues enter the premises of another force. That they might furthermore detain, through force members of the other league. That they may do this without a warrant as well.
The error here is the Seeker's entire actions. Deaths were caused not merely by Denten who happened to think he was doing his job, the problem came with the order to assault the Watch House itself. I have with held ordering the Watch to enter forcefully if necessary the Seeker Hall to look for evidence they are seeking to foster rebellion and dissent within Sanctuary.
I still maintain that this trial and the lack of follow through constituted nothing that the Watch demands. We want the Seeker institution held accountable for the heavy handed manner in which they assaulted the Watch House. It is the manner in which they operated in direct contrast to their charter to operate as scouts and not arresting or law enforcement agents that caused the deaths of men that might otherwise have been avoided.
This is one more reason to strip the Seekers budget down and reallocate their funds to a scouting and investigative division operating jointly under the Watch and Spellguard's over sight. The Seekers themselves can continue their efforts to locate the surface with a reduced budget, but most likely far more efficient operations because they will not be bogged down with any investigative or defensive operations in the future.

This is absolutely outrageous and monstrous. I can't believe this half-orc has been EXILED and threatened with execution on the charge of public nuisance, when his actions can easily be explained as the frightened behavior of a new citizen, unfamiliar with the legal nuances of Sanctuary. Our town used to be a place of freedom.I demand contact be made with this Grunk and he be invited to speak with me personally. I'd like to push for a tribunal to review this case.
- Councilor Adelia Tyrell
I trust you will be voting on legislation in align with my suggestion to ask the mayor to veto the Monstrous and Slaver Race laws? It is because I expected situations like this that I have been for several weeks urging the Council to correct these unjust rules.
